7 days episode Did Calvin change?

Steven wrote on his weibo that beginning epi 5 Calvin will change, become indifferent and bad. When readers asked how bad, Steven says "Let's say the adjective, 'despicable' is quite an apt to describe his actions.

So far at episode I love this couple. Lots of chemistry and I can feel the imminent heartbreak and angst. Sonija loves very womanly and beautiful and of course Steven is utterly charming. A very glamorous couple.

Steven left in his weibo that beginning episode 5, Calvin is starting to change, and become heartless and indifferent. I disagree, imo, Calvin has not changed from who he was before. He is the same flippant and flirtatious and non-committal Calvin from before, it is Christy who has changed. Calvin has made it absolutely clear from the start to Christy that their relationship is purely a partnership, anything beyond that he cannot give especially a long term commitment and a vow to everlasting love. Their partnership works well as long as Christy keeps her heart in check and not look for anything more than Calvin can give her. Calvin is not heartless if he was he would not have staged his death in the exploding yacht to cut her free. Just that his love for her Christy is not even to overcome his aversion to long term commitment. But Christy knows the score when she took on Calvin. It is her choice to stay with him under his terms.

And what's with her inclination to taking her own life when her love life turns sour?

But I am so disappointed with their supposedly intense kissing scene. It was just a blip on the screen and it was over. Felt so cheated by all the publicity of it.

Nevertheless, I love the whole black and white flashback and the group song. All very well done, almost like a scene from a movie.

I would say Christy's needs and desires and thoughts, in short her innate character, did not change much, just that for the past few years she had suppressed that part of her to conform to Calvin's terms because of her love for him and the desire to stay with him. But now her character is re-surfacing and re-exerting itself which naturally upset her relationship with Calvin. Naturally, Calvin being the same Calvin of the past and present and future, will likewise once again distant himself from a demanding Christy who desires something more out of their present relationship. They had a verbal pact, unequivocally understood by both parties of how their relationship should be, which now Christy broke with her demands of him. The past years Christy may have developed a worldly and sophisticated exterior but inside still resides that vulnerable self of yesteryears. But I think she is now way past the phase of committing suicide whenever love doesn't work out.
