Csy: This big brother, Fala, what’s magnetic about him, this Ma Jun Wai, that you listen so much to what he said?

Fala: I truly listen to him.

Csy: I know sometimes he called you up directly. And told you all what he thought over the phone.

Fala: But I believe the stuff he said. After all, he’s been in the industry than us for a much longer period. Hence he has more experiences. Like even how to get along with other people, and when encounter situation that I won’t know how to react, these I will ask him. Particularly at work on how to act, or how to portray the character, all I will ask him too. And truly, he willingly help out

Csy: you have a girlfriend, but if you could have a mistress, would you pick Fala, Linda, and Tavia, let you choose too.

Hahaha!

Csy: haha! look how happy he is. So happy. So floatingly happy! Hahha!

Fala: He probably wants us all

S: May I have them all?

Hahaha!

Fala: I know him so well.

Csy: have a harem

Hahaha!

S: so can have a different one for a different mood

Hahaha!

Csy: you said that, so what mood for what kind of girlfriend?

S: I don’t know, have not thought it through yet just that one for a different mood.

Hahaha!

Fala: he’s too overly happy

S: This one is good for at play. Going out to have fun.

Csy: go to disco. Or to karaoke. With Fala will always go to k.

S: Did that already

Hahaha!

Csy: seen them all already, and her parents, too?

S: Well, they had to meet her big brother. (meaning Steven)

Csy: right, right. What about Linda?

S: Linda? Linda can go to

Csy: to the beach?

S: to Paris

Fala: Paris? And she’ll even pay for herself even.

Hahaha

Csy: ok, so Paris for Linda.

S: or go traveling

Csy and Fala: And Tavia?

S: Ah Yi ah, ah Yi?

Csy: Mop the floor

Fala: Haha! mop the floor. She loves to mop the floor. I once suggested to have her come over to mop my floor

S: No, no!

Hahaha!

S: I think we can go shopping. Because she is very good at keeping tabs on the prices. And will not squander money. She’s good at that.

Csy: so everybody has her own strengths. Ok thank you.

Fala-Linda-Tavia's sister relationship.

Fala is saying that she asks Tavia for advices such as on bf gf relationship, and sometimes Tavia would reprimand her for her behavior. Steven cuts in and says he can also give her advice too on that subject.

S: You don’t have to ask Tavia. I can advice you too on that.

Fala: You’ll be biased

Csy: This thing is not so convenient to talk with a man.

S & Fala: That’s not true, she asks me too

Csy: on love relationship, right?

S: I would reprimand her too.

Csy: How come you keep getting reprimanded by so many people?

S: But turn it around, she would tell me off too and reprimand me too. We mutually tell off each other, tell e

Fala: that’s true

S: But sometimes she was indeed being too willful. (Fala: wah!..) I better stop talking now.

Csy: But then, females being is willful their right.

S: Have to see the position

Csy: Females are to be cherished ma.

S: Agree, but some position is not right

Csy: what position, north south east west?

Fala: Sometimes have to depend on the man, like to show respect to the man

Csy: You say it, let me judge

S: never mind hahaha!

CSY: Any challenge in PSL’s role?
S: Yes, very
CSY: How come? He’s just a scholar. Just talk about a fox spirit seducing him, that’s all

S: Of course, if it is just this, I’d be very happy. Haha! Actually, he was a bit neurotic. He thinks he can hear the animals talk. This part, we concocted. Whether he was this way, nobody knows. But we added this ability in our characterization. He is also attuned to the spirit world. So he can hear and see what normal people can’t. And this is following his own personality, he is very discontented with corruption in the imperial government, with the corrupt and greedy officials. So he is very contrary, so much so, that if he disagrees with the officials, he will straight away flip the table over (show his anger) … so his character is actually very tumultuous. And also, he has the typical melancholy of a scholar, and when confronted with love problems, he’ll become wah….

CSY: Is he (PSL) like you, Steven?
Fala: I think he is.
CSY: Good, Fala lets the cat out. Haha!
S: You just want to mention the part on the table flipping jeh. 
CSY: he’s too into the character of psl
 
Fala: well..yeah..a bit similar..yeah.. PSL is a very warmhearted person, he cares about many things; and be concerned; when he notices something, he’ll observe that person, and tries to put himself in that person’s situation; that part is very like him (Steven).

CSY: so flipping the table over, Steven will do that too? Have you seen him done that, Fala?

Fala: can’t remember..haha!
CSY: Go spill the beans, yourself. (to Steven)
S: I won’t actually the flip over the table. But if observe some unfairness, not necessarily towards me..
Csy: Wah, look at Fala nodding her head so forcefully, it might fall, as if she has experienced it
S: She did experience that once?
Csy: she did? What was it? Must be Steven standing up for Fala?
S: Did that count?
Fala: I guess you could say it did.

Csy: go ahead, tell. Fala’s nodding her head so hard it almost fell off. Her hair's flying every which way.
S: Well, at the time, we were shooting a scene; there was this one crew member there; also maybe because we were all very tired already; I understand; she was acting out a difficult scene then; (CSY: ah Fala?) and there drifted this not very agreeable sound.

Csy: oh..oh! some words not agreeable to the ears
S: When I heard them, my temper rose, so I retorted: “What’s the matter now? Is there a problem?" Something like that. But of course, much louder than this.


Chorus: hahahaha

Csy: so that crew member must have been quite scared. Like startled.

S: I did talk him/her and ask him/her if he/she understood why I said that. Because I don’t think you should affect someone’s mood. She (Fala) was doing a scene, getting into character. She’d been through it several times already, and right at the time when she was getting really into it, getting the rush of emotions, the tears almost dropping, and then….someone saying this and that; should not be that way lah!

Csy: so your voice was very loud, what’s the reaction, Steven?

S: Mine or hers/his?
Csy: his/hers
S: usually – O-shaped mouth lo! (stunned) Hahaha!
Csy: And what’s Fala’s reaction? To have a righteous guardian angel?

Fala: I was absorbed in acting my scene. He taught me that I should not let other stuff distracts me. Can’t lose concentration. Stay focus, that's utmost importance. And so just let him take care of it for me.

S: It’s mutual caring. Just like when she saw me getting into my character, she would also say, “please be quiet!” like also did the same for Ka Yan and others. Am not saying the crew member was bad, they were all our partners-in-arms. But sometimes there were these younger ones (siu pang yao) who didn’t understand what we were doing, would horse around and be loud without knowing that it could affect other people. The crying scenes are very tough to do.

CSY: there’re lots of crying scenes?
Fala: yes, many
S: they were not just outright crying, a lot were like it was so painful you kept it all bottled inside that your eyes turned red.
Csy: just eyes getting red is very difficult to act out. Outright crying is easy, just drip some eye drops, but red eyes are more difficult to do,
S: well…
Csy: wanting to cry but tears won’t flow- that’s very difficult
S: yea, the tears brimming in the eyes but won’t fall.
Csy: a lot of this kind of scenes?
S & Fala: lots
S: I cried the most in the ending. For us actors, it is not appropriate to cry too much. You want to cry but couldn’t. That kind of feeling might be even more painful. Also, the ladies didn’t just sob either for all the scenes.

Very enjoyable and quite insightful in their and Linda's personality. I love Steven's laughter.  And Fala has a direct and insouciant 灑脫 personality.

Fala: I really listen to Steven's advice. Will call him up for advice which he gives generously. Most of his good and close friends, I get along with them very well too, because I feel that our personalities are very similar.

CSY: Steven, if you were to have concubines which among the ladies namely: Fala, Linda, (ok throw in Tavia for you) would you pick?

Siu Yan throws such tough/sensitive questions for Steven to answer. like: between Fala and Linda, who do you like more? His insight on Fala's and Linda's personalities. If you have a bowl of soup who would you give it to? lol!

CSY comments that Steven has a very temperate personality, but Fala reveals that Steven can be very fierce too. Like one day, he was very fierce when he reprimanded a crew member for his/her snarky snide remarks on Fala when the latter was acting a scene. Steven said he was really mad at that person's thoughtlessness because there Fala was trying really hard, and was just now getting into character. Like how you can take snide remarks on yourself but not on someone you care about.
