Soup, though the most unglamorous of food, is to me the most satisfying, the most fulfilling soul food. When early last year, Tavia gleefully divulged to the media that Steven often shared his homemade soups with her on the set, naturally speculations abound on his hidden agenda, if any; there was none. As Steven fan I knew it was just his way of watching out for his co-workers. In fact, he had been sharing his soups with co-stars since where back to 2002, specifically when filming Pitnol. This came to light in a recent Charmaine Sheh’s interview whereby she was asked to comment on all her male co-stars. baidu On Steven, she recalled a happy collaboration between them and that Steven was attentive of his health and often shared his soups with her and co-workers on the set. Linda and Fala also affirmed their sharing of Steven’s soups. Linda was especially grateful of Steven's herbal soups made especially to soothe her sore throat at the time. Regardless of whether Steven’s soups are of everyday or extraordinary fare, his sharing of them is a showing of kindness that warms the heart and eases the travails of filming a series. I know there must be more people like Steven sharing food and soups with colleagues on the set. I recall during the filming of Better Halves, Joyce Koi’s mother often brought homemade goodies to share with the cast, and Steven would pig out on them, so much so that Maggie Cheung nicknamed him Chu (pig) Chun Wai, because of his ballooning full-moon face from weight gain. I just wish that the press would report more of this heartwarming stories rather than fabricating negative publicity of who's dating whom.

I actually first heard of Steven’s soup sharing with colleagues back in Nov. 2007 when his royal stage mom to his Hamlet, Susan Tse revealed in her blog of her partaking Steven’s delicious soups during their endless and tiring rehearsals. Somehow, when I saw their pix, a feeling of ‘compassion’ akin to pity welled up inside me, the fact that they had to drink their soup out of a flask and not with family members at the dining table. Behind their happy countenances and camaraderie, I visualized the interminable stretch of long hours, of arduous and repetitive rehearsals of the same scenes, and of the tedious rote memorization of lines. The bone weariness and even the creeping ornery that one can get when cooped up in a space day and night, night and day; interminable. Susan wrote when the place was closed for the night, she and Steven would continue their rehearsal at his house late into the night until 2 or 3 am and be back at work the next morning at 8 am. And of course, Steven would be there by 7:45 am. Guess one really has to love performing arts to retain such passion one's work. So what better way to assimilate the shared passion for the arts, the shared friendship, the shared travails and the shared experience than over a shared heartwarming soup. Fond memories are often created from such sharing........of soup.

Steven had been sharing his soups with co-workers since forever. This little tidbit about his generosity to his co-workers only recently came to light in the public because of Tavia's spill to a reporter. Just recently, Charmaine Sheh mentioned to the press that Steven also brought soup to work to share with the cast. Of course, now it is often reported that Steven also brought soups to Linda Chung and Fala Chen during work. In the photos taken during his stage show rehearsal for "Chinese Hamlet" in 2007, Steven was sharing his flask of soup with his 'Mother', Susan Tse.

During his interview, Steven, who will replace Moses in an upcoming period drama, Gentle Crackdown 2, disclosed that if given the chance to choose his own character role, he would love to portray a schizophrenic or someone suffering depression. "Nowadays, there are many people afflicted with mental illness. I, myself, have many friends who are depressed or have had suffered depression. No matter how advanced the medical technology may be today, there is no device that can yet probe into mental patients' minds to study their thoughts. So, if such a role comes up, I would love the challenge of playing this kind of character." He said the role may greatly affect his moods, but nonetheless, he is still very keen to take up this challenge.

As a front line TVB siu sang who has acted in many series, which among his female co-stars would he pick as being the most compatible with him? "The most compatible co-star?  "I'd pick Maggie Cheung," said Steven. Why did he cast his vote on her? "She's a natural actress. And she slips into her role very quickly. Just three days into our collaboration, we had already figured out each other's acting style. How she would portray her character vs how I would portray mine; we just knew intuitively. We were very compatible. Afterwards, we were amazed; thereafter, we are always very complimentary of each other's acting."

"I'm a person who don't fall in love easily but once I do it'll be difficult to part. This attribute is very similar to my tv character, Cao Zi. But Cao Zi is a very emotional person. I don't have Cao Zi's literary talent but I treasure life much more than him so I'm more rational than him."

Nov 25 night: After its last show, Hamlet's 《王子復仇記》organizing committee held a special celebratory dinner to reward the cast and production crew for their two months of hard work. The chairperson, Mrs. Alice Chiu (趙曾學韞),  and TVB executive, Virginia Lok, both attended the dinner and congratulated the cast and crew for a successful run.

A large number of celebrities turned out to support Hamlet, including: Lam Ka Sing (林家声) Connie Chan Bo Chu (陳寶珠), Kent Tong (鄭則士), Fung Bo Bo (馮寶寶), Wayne Lai黎耀祥, Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) and Yao Wei (姚玮). Also, there was a group of disabled people and chronic patients who came especially to support Steven in gratitude for his years of social work as well as to present him with their congratulatory flowers. There was also a Taiwanese Steven Ma fan who especially flew over to Hong Kong to watch all 6 shows. When she found out that the organizer needed help to sort out and hand out tickets, she immediately volunteered to help out.

The audience collectively praised Steven for his stage presence and noble bearing and that he held the stage well; in short, his performance was brilliant. Steven was delighted to hear that, that all his hard work was well worth it. “What I’m most happy about is that I got to know a group of good friends, especially Dexter Yeung. We met for the very first time at the rehearsal, but we clicked immediately and became fast friends. Dexter has a lively personality and a good heart, also he is very hardworking. We’re now buddies".

“What I felt badly was that in the 5th show while dueling with Michael my sword accidentally removed his wig from his head.” That was the worst goof-up in the whole run. After dinner, the group continued their celebration in a karaoke bar. There Steven profusely apologized to Michael for his blunder, which the latter graciously accepted, in turn reassuring Steven that it was no big deal. The organizing committee has plans to take Hamlet on tour in China. If the plans pan out, then the cast will have a chance to collaborate again.

“Tale of the Prince’s Revenge”, (Chinese Hamlet) a theatrical play whose cast also included a group of TVB artistes consisting of Steven Ma, Sonija Kwok, Michael Tse, Dexter Young & Lo Chun Shun, debuted the night before (Nov. 22nd). TVB bigwigs, Ms. Virginia Lok and Ms. Chen (曾勵珍) attended the play to cheer on the cast and show support. Connie Chan Bo Chu was also there to support her son (Dexter). Other good friends who attended included Joyce Koi and Emily Kwan (關寶慧). Despite Ma Zai’s earlier appeal to friends to substitute the customary congratulatory flowers with fruit baskets, he still received plenty of flowers that night.

After the show, Zhen Jie and Ms. Lok went backstage together to congratulate the cast. Zhen Jie demonstrated to Sonija, a first timer in theatre performance, on how to gesticulate more naturally and subtly. Sonija was so nervous she was not even aware that she had stepped on Susan Tse’s robe during performance

Also making their theatre debut, Steven and Michael overcame their nervousness to successfully complete their performances without a hitch. They were very into their characters. Steven was very elegant and graceful in his period costume. His intense histrionics scenes elicited loud applause from the audience. Michael’s performance was also very well acted.

For the past 2 years, be it his Sheung Chi in Safeguards, or Cheung Shung Man in The Land of Wealth, even that of Ching Ka Tsun in Steps, there has been a noticeable and decidedly departure of Mazai’s acting style and character roles from his earlier series such as his “Ah Joe”, or “Cao Ji” in Where the Legend Begins. His previously delicate, refined scholarly looks now have an added look of masculinity; and his actions, more decisive. As such, his transformation elicits this impulse to get to know this new Mazai through a new eye.

There’s this Confucian saying, 三十而立(a man to be well-established by age 30). By that age, most men have gone through an inevitable transformation: becoming more mature, more charismatic, and more ambitious.

Steven admits, “These past 2 yeas, I did change a lot. It’s like suddenly I discovered many new interests and took up various hobbies. Like earlier on, I fell in love with photography. Because a snapshot can tell a story. People at different age level will accordingly see and experience life differently. If say, people find their own identities before age 30; then after age 30, they strive to be their true selves– to live their lives according to their newly acquired perspective, and to be true to themselves. Now, I realize that life is not just for fulfilling other people’s expectations, but more so, for seeking out one’s own desired lifestyle. Just like nowadays, despite their kids’ protests, many parents pressured their kids to learn new stuff, thereby, suffocating them and constricting their lifestyle. This can induce burnout, even depression to their kids.”

Before my interview with Steven, I did not have much of an impression of him. Maybe it is because of his consistently righteous screen image that contributed to my “犯贱” (fan jian), a faddish term meaning that people tend to remember the flawed conversely overlooking the almost flawless. But to be near flawless is not his fault, not on screen, and definitely not in real life.

I can’t say what kind of man Steven is, what I can say is that, at least during our hour’s long interview, I could not find faults on him. In the Steps’ press conference, he kept his smiles, and was a thoughtful and courteous (tn:Mandarin) interpreter for his co-stars. He was neither low-key nor attention grabbing, sharing the limelight equally with his co-stars. Despite his infrequent visits to China, he was nevertheless a big attraction whenever he appeared, and wherever he went.

Because of his affability, our interview was very relaxed; it’s more like time spent getting to know a person than filling up blank papers with words. Although the jotted words might seem incoherent but actually whatever questions I’d wanted to ask he had already talked about – Just like a droplet of water will reflect the nature of the ocean. His voice is also very pleasing to the ears. He was very courteous throughout the interview, in every sense, an exceptional man.

TVseries: You are very interested in photography?

S: Yes, it’s been a year now. Almost half an expert now. I learnt it from friends. I have 2 cameras, so I can take pictures continuously, which is good.


T: Do you have any favorite shots?

S: Yes, but they’re mostly of people. Sometimes taken outdoor, and sometimes indoor. I don’t like to use studio lighting. Prefer natural light. Because the beautiful looks taken under studio lights are not as natural. I like color contrasts in the pictures. Every body has his/her beautiful angles, but not many people realize that. If the pictures are taken with studio lighting, then anybody can look pretty. But if there is no special lighting, no matter what the model does, if I were to take the pictures, I will sure to come out with the most beautiful ones. I’ve taken a lot of these pretty pictures, mostly of the females. Because the females’ expressions are easier to capture. When they looked at their pictures, they all said they didn’t know they could look so pretty. I was happy to hear that. (smile)

Actually, I wish I’ve time to travel, to shoot some scenery pictures; simultaneously shooting and documenting the scenery pictures as I travel along. I’m doing the preparation now. Maybe next year, I will write a prose journal. Still need some 40,000 words. So far, have only written 10,000 words. My company will publish it.

TV: I remember you saying your dream is to open a publishing company.

S: Did that already. Been opened for many years now. Only a side interest – help people to publish books. Next year, I, myself, will publish a prose journal. Also intent to publish a pictorial book. I’ll annotate the pictures with my feelings at that time, and narrate the stories behind them.

TV: What’s the name of your company?

S: 出色堂 (True Star Hong Kong) Actually, the name’s been changed several times, (smile) in the end, settled on this. There’s no special meaning behind it. Most thespians hope to just do their best in their acting or singing performances, other than that, they don’t necessarily want to be the best in anything else. It’s even better if there’s no need to communicate. But I don’t think that is possible. Besides, I think an interview will enable the public to get to know you better. It can be an advantage. Of course, it all depends on the thespians’ personality. Some people are naturally introvert or maybe just can’t express themselves well. They may think giving an interview is very tiring. Of course, sometimes, I feel tired too, like when the interviews are too rushed or too tightly scheduled, or when talking non stop. But..

TV: So, just have to bear it?

S: No, no. I don’t see it that way. In fact, it got me into the habit of seeking the 'fun' in it. Everybody has his/her own idiosyncrasy. You may be tired giving an interview, but the person interviewing you is also tired. (smile) They’re all tired. The person who finds the 'fun' during this interview will come out on top.. and happy, to boot. If you can’t find the fun in the interviews, and always go about them with a long face, then how miserable is that?

TV: You entered showbiz as a singer, and did quite well too. But when your acting career took off, your singing career got sidetracked. Is it because you had truly fallen in love with acting or because you had to give in to reality?

S: I truly like it. Truly. Actually, I have never put too much focus on singing. Acting is my main focus. To me, acting is my 2nd life, while singing is just an interest of mine. If both of them could be equally successful then, of course, that would be the best. But if I had to weigh their importance, I would choose acting, for sure.

TV: On a website, there was this question, “What is your favorite Steven’s character role?” Among the top are: “Where the Legend Begins”, followed by “Better Halves”. What about yourself?

S: Actually, Cao Zhi is one of my favorite characters. That was the first time I realized that my moods could be so intensely affected by a character role. Cao Zhi is a tragic figure. I was depressed everyday I did the shooting, because every person close to me tormented me. My brother even betrayed me. Ah, it was depressing, because the script was so tragic, but I was truly into it. The other is Shang Zhi in Safe Guards. I like that character, too.

TV: Did it occur to you that it would become a hit?

S: When we did the filming we all felt that it was a good script. But it was a small production. We all thought that such a small production would not stir up much interest. But it did become a hit. It’s all due to its good script. Also, the whole cast including Wayne, Gwok Fung, Kara Hui, they all brought their characters alive. However, if the script wasn’t there, then there’s nothing. Even if the actors were gods, but the script is bad and has no pull, then no matter how they (tn: actors) acted and strove to overcome its failings, their efforts wouldn’t do much. Conversely, if the script is good, and with the actors just doing their jobs (tn: without extraordinary effort), it (series) would still turn out fine. However, if the script was good plus the cast put in above-average efforts then it (series) would be all that more extraordinary. But good scripts are hard to come by.

TV: You’ve been in many shows, most of them as protagonist. But in the past, many TVB male leads have acted as antagonists leaving deep impression to the viewers. Have you thought about taking the role of an antagonist?

S: I often requested the company to cast me as a villain. But…. There are different types of villains. Some people seem to be born evil. (smile) This kind is pointless. I want to portray a person with a story. There must be reasons behind his turning evil, unless he’s psychotic. Actually, I would like to take on the role of a psychotic killer, or something similar; like he would randomly kill anyone he sees but stops when he sees a child. The kind of character that will arouse people’s curiosity as to his motive. Actually, it is always been this way: even the most evil person has his/her good side, likewise, a good person has his/her dark side. Anyway, I hope I’ll have an opportunity to take up different roles.

Today’s viewers have become smarter. They know how to separate a character in a series from its actor in real life. Like Susanna Kwan from the recent “The Heart of Greed”- she was outstanding and is now very popular. But she is a villain in that series. Did the viewers hate her - no, because that is only acting. If your portrayal of a villain is not evil enough, then that is not good. If your villain is diabolical, then you don’t have to worry, just let down your guards and go all the way. With the same token, there are also different types of protagonists.

TV: Which of the relationship in all your series left the deepest impression in you?

S: It’s still “Where the Legend Begins” – Cao Zhi and Yan Fu’s relationship. Ada’s portrayal was simply brilliant! In the story, their kind of star-crossed love of two people loving each other but can’t, obstructed as it is by society, family and tradition. Their relationship is halted, but still they love each other. Their hearts, transcending space, are intertwined. There’s a distance between them, but they are connected in spirit. This is very tragic, very tragic but also very moving. And also very real. Actually in our present societies, there still exists such love.

TV: Is it because of its imperfect, tragic love that makes it so memorable to you?

S: Right. People are like that. The more helpless, the more people will savor the “helplessness’. In fact, sometimes when love comes too easily, it loses its appeal. This is what people called, ““犯贱” fan jian” (laugh uproariously) Wants to have a good cry, to experience the heartbreak. When everything comes too easily, something is missing. People will only know pain when fallen, so that next time they will be more careful. If a person has never experienced it or fallen, he/she will regret it when he/she grows old. Life shouldn’t be too perfect.

Steven Ma, Sonija Kwok, Michael Tse, Susan Tse Suet Sum谢雪心 (note: a renowned HK Cantonese Opera artiste) and Dexter Young (note: son of renowned HK actress Connie Chan Bo Chu) did a full dress rehearsal for the theatrical play of “Tale of a Prince’s Revenge” (Hamlet) yesterday. The whole cast made an appearance in full stage make-up and costumes. After his make-up, an inner double eyelided Steven duly became triple eyelided. The makeup artist had deliberately magnified the size of his eyes ten-times, to which he had difficulty adapting all at once.

Ma Zai, who has had never worn stage makeup before, did a double take when he belatedly saw his 10 times enlarged eyes, shadowed nose, and outlined lips. The makeup artist explained that it had to be done this way, so that the audience seated on the 3rd floor can see his eyes, mouth and nose. Tomorrow is the play’s opening night. Besides having to get use to his makeup, Ma Zai can’t help but be a bit nervous. Every night at home after rehearsal, he would replay the recording of the day’s rehearsal to do a self-critique. He would only sleep when it almost daybreaks. He laughs: “Well, good thing about this thick make-up, it covers up my haggard looks from people.”

His performance is part of the Greater China Culture Global Association (GCCGA) charity fundraising drive; the opening night will consist mainly of dignitaries and celebrities. However, what pleases Ma Zai the most is that his alma mater has purchased 200 tickets for the show. Teachers and schoolmates will be there to support him.

Already at the eleventh hour, this morning Ma Zai still has to attend a TVB’s ceremony of hair shaving for his new Qing TV series. This will be his third time getting his head shaved but is not worried that his hair will not grow back. “After shaving, stubbles will sprout quickly enough. Every day as usual, I will wash my head, put on some hair protection, and pat some baby oil on it. This will protect the hair follicles.”

When he heard the show has plans to go on tours in China, if time permits, he would like to participate in them, too.

做電視藝員最緊要入屋、有觀眾緣，咁先可以保持人氣高企，皷劇一套接一套咁箧，所以唔少男藝人都爭「師奶殺手」呢個封號。

繼陶大宇、歐陽震華同吳啟華之後，最近又有新任接班人出現，佢就係初出道時被指似天王黎明砼馬浚偉，早排佢同鍾嘉欣、鄭則士等砜上環為新劇拍外景碹陣，就冧到成班師奶貼貼服服。

挺身而出講數
當日拍攝大隊砜上環一間士多門口取景，點知士多老闆娘原來一早約晒班麻雀腳攻打四方城，拍劇好多時都要現場收音，正因為打麻雀砼「啪啪」聲此起彼落，難免會影響工作進度，不過工作人員又唔好意思阻住老闆娘大殺四方，正當大家苦惱點收科之際，馬浚偉變身「正義之士」擺出一個「講數」Look，挺身而出同班太太團「講數」，個個睇到佢惡形惡相都驚佢會破口大罵。

點知，馬浚偉竟然使出佢迷人砼眼神加一把磁性砼聲音，好有禮貌咁同老闆娘講：「唔好意思，可唔可以等我疉拍埋呢場先打呀？好快就得硇啦！」成班師奶婆婆畀馬浚偉親切誠懇砼態度打動到，乖乖疉停晒手，佢疉冇詐型之餘，仲大讚馬浚偉上鏡同真人一樣咁英偉。

由此可見，馬浚偉認真夠晒吸引力，贏得一眾工作人員砼心之餘，仲盡顯江湖地位，唔怪得佢皷劇一部接一部咁箧啦！

昨天马浚伟接受记者电话访问，承认心脏出现问题，两个月前在家中突然心跳加速得很厉害，还差点晕倒，立即入急症室求诊。最初他以为只是心律不 齐，经详细检查后才发现是“心脏神经线短路”。当两条神经线“搭上”时，心跳立即加速。虽然服药可控制病情，但接受手术可彻底治疗，目前他还在考虑中： “其实只是做微创手术，风险不大，但最少休息十天，实在没有这么多时间。”

医院心脏科高级医生何鸿光表示，心脏神经线短路的成因是先天性心脏多了一条神经线，令指挥心脏跳动的神经系统出现短路，使心脏跳动次数大幅增加，最高可达200次。病发时，患者会出现晕眩、呼吸不畅顺等病征，严重可致心脏衰竭，导致死亡。除了马浚伟外，古巨基亦曾承认患有“心律不齐”。 (鱼鱼/文)

医院心脏科高级医生何鸿光表示，心脏神经线短路的成因是先天性心脏多了一条神经线，令指挥心脏跳动的神经系统出现短路，使心脏跳动次数大幅增加，最高可达200次。病发时，患者会出现晕眩、呼吸不畅顺等病征，严重可致心脏衰竭，导致死亡。除了马浚伟外，古巨基亦曾承认患有“心律不齐”。 (鱼鱼/文)

（香港訊）劇集《舞動全城》在香港收視不錯，但男主角馬浚偉（馬仔）卻鮮少參與宣傳，不像女主角廖碧兒頻頻曝光。

馬仔不見蹤影，原來是因為患上罕有的心臟怪病─心臟旁導管症（心跳會突然急劇加速，令整個人如觸電般），試過突然在家暈倒不省人事。雖然之後長期吃藥，但現時仍然兩天暈一次。由於身上背著這個計時炸彈，馬仔早前不得不推掉去湖南錄影的大製作《舞動奇跡》，長留在家休養。


據悉，馬浚偉1999年母親過身後，因壓力過大，患上心律不正。據知情人士表示，“他因為心律不正，時常看醫生。但他說不嚴重，所以沒有做全面檢查。”直到去年年底拍《舞動全城》，馬浚偉試過突然失場，原來他不止一次在家暈倒，後來正式做檢查，才知道是心臟旁導管病。”

馬浚偉病情愈來愈嚴重，今年拍攝劇集《秀才愛上兵》及《金石良緣》期間，都因為體力不支而頻頻告假，亦需要隨身帶備藥物。知情人士說，“他要長期吃藥，但仍不能完全控制病情，隨時都會病發，所以他和相熟工作人員講定，如果突然暈倒話，就幫忙拿藥給他。”


另外，無線大型節目《舞動奇跡》本來亦安排他參加，順道配合劇集《舞動全城》宣傳，但恐怕應付不了長時間的訓練及去湖南的連日拍攝，馬浚偉最後只好向高層樂易玲請辭，位置由謝天華頂上。


由於工作不能太操勞，故馬仔近月曝光率驟減。記者日前趁他到上環準備搭船去澳門登台，問他有關心臟旁導管一事，他一臉愕然說：“你怎會知道？（是不是準備做手術？）就算做都是小手術，別嚇到關心我的人。每個人身體都可能有突發性情況，我的病暫時藥物控制到。”

他 透 露 兩 個 月 前 在 家 中 突 然 心 臟 劇 跳 ， 便 立 即 搭 的 士 入 急 症 室 ， 經 詳 細 檢 查 後 ， 證 實 是 心 臟 神 經 線 短 路 ， 當 兩 條 神 經 線 「 黐 埋 一 齊 」 ， 心 跳 便 會 加 速 。 他 又 透 露 目 前 靠 食 藥 來 控 制 病 情 ， 但 醫 生 提 議 進 行 微 創 手 術 以 徹 底 治 療 此 病 ， 不 過 馬 浚 偉 近 日 工 作 忙 碌 ， 實 在 難 以 停 工 十 日 ， 故 此 仍 在 考 慮 當 中 。

The Tale of The Prince’s Revenge, 王子復仇記co-starring Steven Ma and Sonija Kwok, will have 6 performances in the Cultural Center on Nov. 22nd through 25th . It held a press conference yesterday at Regal Hong Kong. Besides Steven and Sonija attending the function, the other cast members including Michael Tse, Yang Tian Jin, and Xie Xue Xin were present, too

Steven’s role in the show is Prince Huan. When asked if he feels any pressure during rehearsals, Steven smiles and says: “This character suffers depression, and has some mental problems. Frankly, I, myself go through some of those problems, too; so there isn’t much pressure on me. Everybody goes through some mood swings in life. It’s true when immersed in the role, my mood would dip. After rehearsal, it’s not physical fatigue, rather it’s mental exhaustion. (Are you worried you can’t extract yourself from your character?) All these years of acting, I’ve never being unable to extract myself. Just that the lines keep repeating in my head. Sometime, I became so mindless from memorizing the lines, totally oblivious to my surrounding. If I really have problems, I will seek out Big Sister Ming. (Lin Jian Ming)

Actually, what I worried most is the 3 minutes sword fighting scene with Michael, if not careful, at any moment, could be blinded by the other party.

2007 Steven Ma wishes Joyce Koi Happy Birthday

Steven gave Joyce a birthday red packing wishing her Happy Birthday, Gugu! And signed himself off as Guo Yi. Their affectionate addresses of each other harkens back to their friendship struck up during their collaboration in Better Halves in 2003.

Their pet names came about because in June 1st 2003, Steven officially became Hong Kong renowned Cantonese opera master, Loong Gun Tin's  (龍貫天) student. After the teacher-student officiation tea ceremony, Steven and Master Loong invited the two leading female leads of Better Halves, Joyce Koi and Maggie Cheung to a midnight snack.  During the meal, they divulged their newly established teacher-student relationship.  Joyce was both happy and curious: "This is strange! How come a horse wander into here? Not even of the same stable, so why took up tutoring?"  Because Joyce and Loong are both students of 薛觉先 hence of the same level, Joyce insisted that Steven as student of Loong by opera status, would now have to address her as " 靓 (pretty) gugu", and he would  be "Guo Yi" and they would be the Insane/crazy/loony heroes (pun on Condor Heroes)「神经侠侣」 .

马浚伟容易受伤

无綫有两个男福将，逢剧必收，一个系欧阳震华，另一个就系马浚伟。
不过，成功非侥幸。好似马仔咁，嗰日嘅宣传活动上，男女分组斗做高难度瑜伽，马仔一个拗手跷脚高难度动作，就赢得全场掌声，肯定佢事前做足预备工夫。

大事做足工夫，小事佢都照顾周到。当日所见，众人除鞋做瑜伽时，马仔率先好豪气咁连袜都除埋，咁大方，原来佢对脚十分整洁，就算右脚中趾损咗，都好整齐咁贴咗块药水胶布。
谂番起旧年佢做台庆宣传，咁跷伤咗只右眼，包到冚出席活动。出嚟做宣传都经常受伤，睇嚟斯斯文文嘅马仔真系容易受伤的男人。

去年台庆，马仔亦咁啱右眼受伤，成只眼包到冚，另类抢镜。

马仔做得出呢个高难度动作，肯定下咗唔少苦功。成只脚掌整洁度亦攞足100分，贴胶布都整齐过人。

SM buys health supplements to keep fit

Steven Ma will protray a marathon runner in A Journey Called Life 《 金 石 良 緣 》.  Recently he visited the gym for track running to build up stamina and keep fit, and then dropped by a tanning booth for a tan, and later went on to a Tsim Sha Tsui health store to buy some health supplements.  Before going home he went to a congee place in Mongkok to buy a bowl of congee and cheong fan carryout.

When asked Steven explained to this reporter that he did not go to the gym to bulk up but was there to lose weight for for his upcoming AJCL series.  That day I bought some protein capsules as supplements lacking from my diet.

Aimee Chan's Chances Slipping at MCI 2007
The 2007 Miss Chinese International Pageant will be taking place on Saturday in Foshan and the twenty-one contestants met the judges for the first time yesterday. The panel will include TVB artistes Charmaine Sheh, Steven Ma, Sonija Kwok and Roger Kwok. They all say that they will not show any favouritism towards the Hong Kong representative Aimee Chan and will score fairly.

The girls have returned to Hong Kong after their promotional tour of Foshan and Aimee seemed rather tired at the meeting, that may have lost her some points with the judges. She says that she is very robust and she is not nervous and she is becoming more and more excited as the event draws near. The contestants have all been busy rehearsing and trying their costumes, hoping to give a great show and Aimee will also be catching up on some sleep over the next few days. Does she feel she is at an advantage as the Hong Kong representative? She says that although she worked with Roger on location when she took part in Miss Hong Kong, she does not feel that this will benefit her. Melbourne's Jenifer Jiang is the youngest contestant this year at only 18 years old, but she says she has no pressure and is having a lot of fun. She says that everyone else are like big sisters and there is no-one picking on her.

This is the first time that Charmaine has been a judge at a beauty pageant and she had a chat with each of the contestants at the press event. She says that she is interested in the level of knowledge that the contestants have on Chinese Culture and she says that to be themselves is already enough because to be natural is the most beautiful. However, Charmaine did not reveal her favourites because this is unfair and she just said that she will judge fairly and seriously and will show no favouritism. Sonija felt the girls had great figures and asked if she felt that Aimee seemed a little lacklustre, she says that a lot of it is down to your own drive and determination. When she took part in MCI, she was unwell, but she still managed to win the award and the hard work paid off. She also says that she will not give extra points to the Hong Kong representative because she has to be fair.

Steven says frankly that he will be able to watch the pretty girls openly and although he offered his hand to shake with Aimee, he insists that he will not be so generous with his points. He feels that the most important thing about MCI is for the contestants to learn a little more about China and to not even know when the country was formed is unacceptable. He prefers the contestants that look 'traditionally Chinese'. Of course, to look tidy is also important. Roger worked with Aimee in Korea during the Miss Hong Kong pageant, so he has a deeper impression of her, but he will not be biased.

The MC's for the show will be Eric Tsang and Derek Li. Singing star Eric Moo will also be the guest MC. When Derek was introducing the contestants onto the stage, he caused a few laughs when he introduced Number 12 Sarah Song from Sydney as 'number 12 contender'. 1月15日,“2007年度国际中华小姐竞选”二十一位候选佳丽首晤大会评判，评判团包括:佘诗曼、马浚伟、郭羡妮、郭晋安等，决赛当晚将请来曾志伟和李浩林担任司仪，巫启贤担任嘉宾司仪。

馬浚偉、佘詩曼、郭晉安、郭羨妮昨日以「2007年度國際中華小姐競選」的評判身份於機場富豪酒店與21位入圍佳麗首次會晤。佳麗們和幾位評判有講有笑，爭取好的印象分。郭羨妮表示當年參選華姐的時候，曾累到病倒，說：「我仲記得當時壓力好大，仲要保持身形，所以選到都覺得自己好犀利，我都希望各位佳麗要有好好的意志力。」而阿佘表示看到佳麗們，就想起當年自己參選時所嘗試的東西，還從自己的經驗中提醒佳麗們要做自己。郭晉安表示自己最注重是佳麗們的談吐，不知哪位是安仔的心水？說：「香港佳麗，因為曾經在韓國和她拍攝過外景。」　同做過「最上鏡小姐」評判的郭羨妮、阿佘和安仔均表示佳麗們的身材都很好。

馬仔準備難題考佳麗
　而馬仔更主動和2號的香港佳麗陳茵媺握手，問馬仔是否對她感覺特別親切，馬仔表示：「其實我都有同其他女仔握手，因為自己英文『水皮』，一直以為要用國語和他們溝通，講廣東話的感覺會親切點。」馬仔還直言自己喜歡很有中國味道和中華氣質的女性，說：「如果有識中國歷史的就更加好，我自己都諗有關中國歷史的問題考佢。」
　
　另外，剛從內地回來的2號佳麗陳茵微看起來非常疲憊，問到是否睡眠不足？她說：「可能最近工作太忙碌。我會盡量爭取多點時間休息。（緊張否？）唔緊張！反而有興奮，最近個個都咁努力練習，迎接比賽當日，我好希望可以當晚有出色表現。」

[2007-01-16] 中華小姐首晤評判 阿佘馬仔注重中國文化
「2007年度國際中華小姐競選」將於本周六假佛山市中心組團新城區佛山新聞中心隆重舉行。來自世界各地城市的二十一位候選佳麗昨日首次會晤大會評判，包括佘詩曼、馬浚偉、郭羨妮、郭晉安及中國著名畫家及佛山電視台藝術指導陳永鏘，大會司儀則由曾志偉和李浩林擔任，而巫啟賢亦首次出任嘉賓司儀。
　剛完成佛山宣傳活動返港，香港代表陳茵媺明顯露出疲態，但她仍否認不捱得，也不擔心首晤評判留下不好印象。距離選舉日子逐漸逼近，陳茵媺稱不緊張，反而還很興奮，近日各佳麗努力排舞及試衫，希望令個騷好睇，這幾日她亦盡量爭取睡眠時間。
安仔羨妮不偏心
　佘詩曼初次擔任選美大會評判，於記者會後將與各佳麗逐一傾談，她會著重佳麗對中國文化的認識，給予佳麗的心得，最重要是做好已足夠了，始終自然是最靚的。不過阿佘被問到心水佳麗，她卻以公平為由婉拒透露，只強調對任何一位佳麗亦以嚴謹態度去評審，絕不偏私。郭羨妮首次跟佳麗會面，覺得她們的身形不錯。她亦表示對香港佳麗不會鬆手，更自覺公正嚴明。
　馬浚偉高興能擔任選美評判，可拿正牌睇靚女。席上馬仔跟陳茵媺主動握手，他強調對陳茵薇給分不會鬆手。他覺得選國際中華小姐最重要是佳麗能認知中國，他揀選女仔亦以「很中國樣」的佳麗較喜歡，當然外表看來整齊亦相當重要。郭晉安在選港姐時曾與陳茵媺到韓國拍外景，故對她印象亦較深，不過今次就一定不會偏心，會以新的角度去看。
