Lotyef: TVB cut out lots of Steven's scenes

According to Hong Kong fans, TVB cut out a lot of Steven's scenes including Director Tsui's favorite scene of Monk Zhi Cong's first onscreen appearance - writing calligraphy with his left and right hands. In the original version, Steven's monk has lots of scenes in episode 8 but most of them were cut out on TVB version.  weibo link  TVB's pettiness just reached new height for me.

Lotyef: Original themevideo vs TVB themevideo

tvb original themevideo
Below is the original themevideo

I have to say I do prefer the original themevideo over tvb version.

Director Tsui Fans Weibo bemoans the fact that TVB has artibrarily replaced the original opening themevideo and closing themevideo with their own versions. Most regrettably is that the closing credit has omitted the names of the arts, lighting and makeover crew members, respectively; incredibliy the name of the excutive producer (status equivalent to a producer in HK) has been omitted, too. 2月29日 12:15

12月29日 18:05 Director Tsui's response to the weibo: Film production cast and crew toiled assidously for a long period of time to finish a movie or a TV series, so of course they all hope to have their names imprinted on their work. But unfortunately some tv stations would shorten the credit roll name list or even delete some names altogether. Hope in the future the tv stations would pay more attention to it and make the necessary changes.

Legend of the Yuan Empire on TVB HD

In Cantonese

Only 2 episodes are being uploaded on Youtube

This site has to date 4 episodes uploaded but the videos are inferior to the youtube ones.

So far I'm enjoying the series but don't like the Cantonese dubbing, I prefer the Mandarin dubbing much more. Steven's character makes his first appearance towards the end of episode 7 and more of episode 8.

Good news notice -- The Legend of Kublai Khan will air on TVB late December

11月20日 23:48Siu Ming gor from the start had already reserved the role of Liu Bin Zhong for young master (tn: Steven) but was opposed and obstructed by someone, consequently Siu Ming had to find another actor, and even had the latter's head shaved.  Ultimately...ultimately Siu Ming gor still wanted young master for the role. That's why I'm very grateful to Siu Ming gor and Amy jie (tn: his wife), and also 阿區 ..thanks.  And now Kublai Khan achieves such good results, blossoming everywhere, I myself also shed copious tears! Congratulations to Siu Ming gor and Amy jie.

Note: I can only imagine how angry and frustrated both Tsui jie and Steven were at that person for obstructing this hard earned opportunity to film such a big budget, high profile series and under such a renowned director to boot. No wonder Tsui is still emotional at recalling that period.

2013-11-20 21:35「忽必烈傳奇」The Legend of Kublai Khan will air late December on TVB hd channel. This battle,  tough to fight ya! In the end, won! Young Master

Btw, The Legend of the Yuan Empire Founder (建元风云-忽必烈传奇)has been changed to The Legend of Kublai Khan. 「忽必烈傳奇」(because of China Films and TV Series' order. Probably KB is not acknowledged by China government as the founder of Yuan Empire? )

Reportedly, 【安徽卫视2014年待播电视剧】Anhui satellite station will air this series in 2014. So far, this series has been aired on local/online China tv station(s) and in Malaysia.

Hopefully these two awards for LOTYEF will also boost Steven's popularity in China

Hunan tv channel's promo ad on Steven

子聪大师首播马浚伟搞笑宣传广告
tudou link to tv promo ad on Steven's two series Yuan Yang Pei and Kublai Khan monopolizing Hunan tv channel from midday to late night. (tn: the ad missed out Kublai Khan's reruns at 8:30 am in the morning) In the afternoon at 1:30 pm is airing re-reuns of YYP until 7 pm where Kublai takes over the night with 5 episodes till midnight. There is also a brief intro in Steven included. Steven is fiery hot on the channel. lol!

And Monk Zi Cong is really cool and handsome, too!

The Legend of Kublai Khan airing on Hunan tv channel

The Legend of Kublai Khan 忽必烈传奇 (formerly The Legend of Yuan Empire Founder 建元风云 ) since 7/21 is now airing on Hunan tv channel at 7:30 pm 10 episodes each run. (the same tv outlet where Yuan Yang Pei premiered).  Steven first appears at the end of episode 8 and episode 9 is mostly his and Kublai's scene. Coincidentally Hunan is also airing Steven's YYP in the afternoon 7 episodes at a time.

As its habit, Hunan tv channel has changed the title 忽必烈传奇 to 《打仗英雄忽必烈》. And once again, YYP's title has yet another title called "糊涂的爱" The Confusing Love.

Episode 9 -- Zi Chong and Kublai's scene.
Apparently in epi 9 and 10 Steven has lots of screen time.
