Editorial Comment on Steven weibo

Somehow can't let 520 pass without me commemorating it with something of my own.  Since I am not good at photoshopping images or creating music video I will write something about Steven sina weibo instead. FYI, Steven designated 520 (may 20th) to be family day on his weibo whereby he will interact with his little piggies (loyal fans) on his weibo

There is a thread on TVB baidu that asks if people have become disillusioned or disappointed with their idol(s) after following him/her/them on the weibo, suffice to say there are plenty due to various reasons; it maybe their idols' poor command of words, or their writing styles or the stuff that is posted in their weibo, or their frivolity and shallowness of thoughts. Whatever it is, the image that is formed through their idol's posts did not match the image formed previously in their minds.

For myself, after a year of following Steven's weibo, I can honestly say that I admire him even more as a person than before.  He is not afraid to let his personality shines through his words. His weibo is more on substance less on superficial posting, more on sharing and less on socializing, more on interacting with readers and less on self-promoting and self-publicizing.  His weibo entries are centered on his beliefs, thoughts, and his opinions and feelings on outside news, his hobbies and interests, and of course his work. Most of his entries are personal since he seldom fraternizes  with his fellow tvb colleagues on weibo, much less reposts their' weibo entries.  Unlike other celebrities (those I browse) who seldom (if ever) interact with their readers, Steven emphasizes that he reads all the responses even if they were over thousands, and more importantly, he responds to them during his online chat with them.

Furthermore, I find his entries quite inspirational with his positive and optimistic attitude towards life.  Many fans have said that reading Steven's entries have helped them view life and situation in various perspectives.

All in all, I've gotten to know and like Steven even more through his weibo.  A man with his refinement, character, class and style and multi-talented to boot are definitely hard to find these days, what's more in superficial entertainment circle.  To me Steven is a man of heart, a big heart that has plenty of room for tolerance and love in abundance to share with people around him and those he meets.

The statement that really stuck in my mind about Steven's weibo is him saying this: Very tired, exhausted but very happy.  He has uttered that sentiment repeatedly throughout his weiboing.
