For those who are still puzzling over the Disneyland scene not incorporated into the story, MSC has confirmed that the Disneyland filming was done just for the themevideo and that it is separated from the storyline.
From her and Steven's previous weibo entries on the day of filming:

I guess they did the theme video so early,
(usually themevideo is done much later like a month or two before
airing) because Steven's leaving and also because he wouldn't have the
same hairstyle.
