Host (Andes Yue 余宜发; Fa Jai) : Sitting beside me is someone I’ve known for a long time but have not seen each other recently. Here’s Steven!
Steven says that they met in childhood. Andes says “Exaggerating much?” Steven says since entry in the industry. And then they go into a long conversation about who is more senior in the industry – none of them wants to claim that seniority ‘honor’. And the consensus is that ‘about the same time.”
Then Andes says that Steven seems to have lost weight.
Steven says: Yes! All muscles. (haha!)
Andes: Take off your shirt. (haha!)
Steven: I’ve no need to compete for this. Because I’m not..
Andes: No need to compete with mine; I don’t have any. (haha!)
Steven: Am not (???) I lost weight because these past years have been playing badminton. So fanatic in badminton playing that I lost roughage and fat. Also continue to workout in the gym. Thinner but more fit. Whereas before, body quite flabby.
Andes: Where got? You have a good frame. blah blah. (typical Men's talk)
--Steven used to own a tanning bed in his flat (not anymore) cos' Andes saw it when he visited him at his home during one CNY where they and other guests played majong and other stuff. The 2 times he especially tanned himself were for his roles in "On the track or off" and "A Watchdog's Tale".
- Coincidentally Steven arbitrarily chose Sept 27 1993 as the date of his entry into the entertainment cos' that's when his first album "Lucky to have met you" was released by Warner Music. His last album "TV series Theme Songs" was released in 2003, and after a elapse of 10 years, this year 2013, he is once again releasing a new album. So almost but not quite yet (as Steven has insisted since it is not yet Sept.) Steven has been in the industry for almost 20 years. Andes asks Steven if he plans to arrange any celebratory event to celebrate his 20th anniversary in the industry. Steven says no. Andes this new album can be considered as a commemoration. Steven says that originally upon a good friend's suggestion, he and his manager planned to only release a song or two but then he got to know this person who sponsored Steven's new album, and he believes that he will continue to release albums.
Andes: It'll be a waste if you don't
Steven: Thank you!
Andes: It's true and I know you yourself love to sing.
Steven: It's true. I admit. But I did get to sing TVB songs

Andes: Where did all the songs gone?
Steven: TVB keep them.
(Talk about maybe TVB should release albums of past tvb themesongs. Steven says that Linda Chung's cd has AJCL themesong, A Little Story. They agree it would be a good idea indeed.)

----Andes: Has nothing to do with it. Maybe because at different stage of life, our vocal changes --------accordingly. Steven agrees.
--- Steven says also his mind has become more positive, that these days he won't overthink.
---- His attitude is: Doesn't matter, as a person, whatever you want to do, go do it so long it is not a crime or harm people. Whatever you want then go do it.
Andes says Steven: You are so you. Your expression just now - you were that way too in the past.
Steven: In the past, I was that way too, ha?
-- The discussion veered into different behavior with different people. Like something as a man you can only talk with men, or only talk with women, etc.

Steven: Now, when I look at a situation, while seeing its negative at the same time can also discern the positive side of it. Even a negative situation may have a positive to it. It just depends on how you see it. An outwardly bad news may actually be a blessing in disguise. That’s how I like to see things these days. Also, don’t nitpick on other people’s flaws. Who amongst us do not have flaws? If that person is your family member, you must accept it and be tolerant. If the person is your friend, you still need to be tolerant. If the person is not a friend and you really can’t accept his/her flaw(s) then just don’t see each other lo, you’ve a choice to choose your friends ma. But if you have this attitude that seek out the good in a person, you’ll see that person in a better light. Your attitude determines what you see. [..] I totally buy this saying: "We can’t change other people’s mindset but we change ours." [..] So be more 'siu sa' and don’t get mired in little insignificant things[..] . Andes: Looking at Steven, so cheerful, continue to be a youngster!
Steven : No way, man, I puke! Don't call me a youngster! In weibo, they sometimes like to describe me as cute(“可爱”). I truly want to die lo! I said: Please don't use “可爱” to describe me. Steven's mindset greatly influenced the songs he composed.

Steven describes his hands-on and immersion in the whole production of his new album, unlike in the past where all he did was just record his songs, that's all. Including his makeover and pictures, everything.

Andes: What kind of music you are leaning towards in your album?
Steven: No jazz. but rock for sure. ??? All real instruments in the recording with synthesizer. Even bought some specific instruments for the musical effect.
Andes: A big monetary investment.
Steven: Yes, very grateful for the investor's support and confidence in them to enable them to produce such a superior quality album. Steven talks about recording and microphone high quality.
