Ycwb: What attracted you to return to TVB to film the series?
SM: When I left TVB I’d already agreed to sign a per series contract. When Catherine Tsang asked me if I could film this series I thought the script was good so I came back. My contract with TVB is a one-time contract for this series (SIAC) only. Next time if there is another suitable series and role available I would have to sign another contract with TVB for that collaboration. They hope that I can film another series this year. So presently whether Hong Kong or mainland, I’m fully independent. I enjoy this kind of mode of operation immensely.
Ycwb: This is your first time filming a Republican Era drama in TVB, how do you feel?
SM: Prior to this, all those years in TVB I had never filmed a Republican Era drama so that was a big draw for me. Moreover, Sam Siu (3rd young master) this character has a complex background, with lots of suppressed feelings. Although the series is now aired halfway through, his character will undergo more changes. I like a role with lots of internal struggles, a character with layers. “Sam Siu” is a good man but he has been through a lot in life, and has killed many people at war, so his morals and values have all changed. So his trust in people has broken. During his investigation into his 2nd sister’s murder he even suspected his own father. Fortunately after he met Bing Bing (Tavia Yeung) his trust in people is restored – there are still good people in the world.
Ycwb: You are tired of portraying a Mr. nice guy, so don’t want to repeat that role?
SM: Nowadays I’m reluctant to portray a totally mr. nice guy, even if I’m not bored the audience will. Having portrayed a pure mr. nice guy for so many years, I really don’t know how to go about it anymore. (as in bringing freshness to the role) I hope to portray a character with realistic human traits – no matter how good a person is he still has his dark side, conversely, even a bad person has his good side.
Ycwb: Back in TVB after 2 years, did u create new sparks with old partners?
SM: Our old mutual tacit understanding was still there. Producer Leung (SIAC) nowadays likes changes, he has lots of ideas in the creative work, and has also become increasingly bold. In the beginning when he had to have a war scene I said it’s difficult to shoot a battle scene, he said: No problem, we’ll film it in Shundak and Yindak; they have lots temporary actors there. During our discussions he became very animated. Even though some of our ideas did not pan out but the creative sparks from our discussions already made us very happy. As for Tavia, she has really matured (as an actress) and handled each scene meticulously. During filming we often argued. Because we are so familiar with each other we so if we had problems with each other we wouldn’t hold back. Sometimes we argued till our faces turned red. But that was towards the matter in contention not towards the person. But after our argument we resumed our camaraderie of resting our arms around each other shoulders. I’m very grateful to have encountered this kind of partners, our honest and open discussions created news sparks and promoted trust among us.
離巢兩年的無線「收視福將」馬浚偉重返老東家,打破以往「老好人」的熒屏形象,在民初劇《守業者》中飾演三少爺「潘家揚」一角,演技受到好評。戲外的他則成立了個人工作室,完成了從演員到老板的蛻變。馬浚偉坦言,很滿意現在享有的自由度,接下來除了要演戲、唱歌外,他還計劃涉足幕後,過一把導演癮。
戲內:「三少爺」夠複雜,不用再演老好人
《守業者》是馬浚偉的回巢之作,也是他在無線首度出演的民初劇。他坦言自己已經演膩了「老好人」,而「潘家揚」這個複雜的角色吸引了他,在拍攝中與久別的老搭檔楊怡也碰撞出不少火花。
羊城晚報:這次回無線拍戲,是什麼吸引了你?
馬浚偉:前年我離開無線時就簽了「部頭約」,這次曾姐(無線戲劇制作部總監曾勵珍)問我有沒有時間拍這部劇,我覺得劇本不錯就回來了。我跟無線是一部一部劇簽約的,下次有合適的劇本和角色才會再簽,他們希望我今年能再拍一部。現在無論在香港還是內地,我都是完全自由的,這種工作模式是我感覺最愉快的。
羊城晚報:這是你第一次在無線拍民初劇,有什麼感覺?
馬浚偉:在無線多年都沒拍過民初劇,這對我來說很有吸引力;而且「三少爺」這個角色背景很複雜,內心隱藏了很多東西。現在劇集雖然已經播到一半,但接下來他還會有很多變化。我喜歡演內心戲多、有層次的角色。「三少爺」是一個好人,但是經歷了很多事情,在戰場上殺了很多人,道德觀、價值觀都變了,因此他對人的信任感已經破碎了。在回家後暗查二姐的命案時,他連自己的爸爸都懷疑,幸好遇到了冰冰(楊怡飾),他才重新相信:原來世界上還是有好人的。
羊城晚報:你是演「老好人」演膩了,不想再重複了嗎?
馬浚偉:現在我是完全不願意再演大好人了,就算我不覺得悶,觀眾也會悶。演了這麼多年純情大好人,我真的不知道還能怎麼演了。我希望能夠演一些反映真實人性的東西──再好的人也有陰暗面,再壞的人也有好的一面。
羊城晚報:時隔兩年再回無線,跟老搭檔有什麼新火花嗎?
馬浚偉:感覺還是很默契。材叔(《守業者》監制梁材遠)現在很喜歡求變,在創作上鬼主意更多,也越來越大膽。當初講這個故事的時候,他說要有戰爭場面,我說戰爭很難拍啊,他說:沒關系,我們在順德、英德拍,那里有很多群眾演員可以幫忙。跟他聊天,他會聊得很開心,即使有一些創意未必能拍出來,不過那種創作的火花已經讓人很興奮。還有,楊怡現在真的成熟了,每一場戲拿捏都很清楚。拍攝的時候,我們倆常常會吵,因為太熟了,所以有問題一定不會隱藏,有時候真的會吵到面紅耳赤,但都是對事不對人,吵完之後繼續勾肩搭背。我很感恩能遇到這樣的搭檔,可以開誠布公地討論。這次回來,我覺得這樣的火花越來越多了,大家的信任度也越來越好。
羊城晚報:這次到英德、順德等地拍外景,有什麼難忘的經歷嗎?
馬浚偉:那里很多地方我平時都不會去,但原來小橋流水,景色真的很美!我們到英德拍外景的時候,所有村民都跑出來了,沒有一千也有八百人。當時天氣很熱,有一位大姐還特意煮了兩大鍋海帶綠豆湯給我們劇組吃,大家真的很感動。其實我們拍戲多少會影響他們的生活,因為要封路什麼的,但是他們完全不介意,還這麼貼心。還有一件事讓我們挺感動的,拍戲的時候有個同事的相機不見了,我們用喇叭在現場問有沒有人撿到,有一個女孩子很快就幫我們找到了。問她想要什麼報酬,她只是說:「我想跟你合照。」
羊城晚報:《守業者》播出後,有觀眾覺得劇情太老套,你怎麼看?
馬浚偉:上周收視升了一點,很多觀眾回饋說越看越好看。一開始他們以為是探案劇,後來發現是以一場命案引出家族的一系列明爭暗斗,很多線索會慢慢展開,接下來還有很多東西讓人意想不到。
戲外:走好事業第一步,然後再想感情事
離開無線後,馬浚偉先在香港成立了「小馬工作室」,不久前又在內地成立了工作室,完成了從演員到老板的蛻變。說到未來大計,馬浚偉想法多多,除了歌影視全面開花,他還想要過一把導演癮。

羊城晚報:成立工作室後,工作方向會有拓展嗎?
馬浚偉:除了劇集,今後涉足電影的機會會更多。今年的重點會放在內地,但也不會放棄香港,如果有適合的劇本還是會回來拍。以前在無線,沒事情需要煩惱,只管去演戲就行,而現在的工作量比以前大了5倍,幸好在北京、香港都有一幫很好的同事。辛苦是辛苦些,不過我很享受這種狀態。
羊城晚報:你是作為歌手出道的,時隔十年,去年又推出了全新專輯。對唱歌的那團火還在嗎?馬浚偉:那團火絕對沒有熄滅,我很喜歡在台上唱歌,但之前沒有這樣的機緣。工作室成立之後,很幸運得到投資方的支持,之後我預計每年都會推出一張專輯。3月底,我會推出一首國語歌《Big Band》,類似百老匯的音樂風格,描述一個男人結婚前一晚的心情。新專輯會在6月推出,一共9首歌,其中3首國語歌,其余是粵語歌,在香港和內地同步推出。這次我沒有自己創作,之前那張專輯有五首歌是我自己作曲和填詞,但這次我想跟不同的人有更多的合作,吸取別人的經驗,作出新的嘗試。
羊城晚報:比起當年做歌手,現在出唱片會不會有壓力?
馬浚偉:現在跟做全職歌手完全不一樣,完全沒有壓力。現在市道不一樣,一張唱片能賣5000張已經很好,不過只要計算好成本,不要將風險弄得太大就行。唱片推出之後,會附帶有很多商業演出的機會,還有網上賣歌的收益,而且現在出一張唱片的成本比以前低了很多,還可以通過網絡推廣,只要別一次發行數量太多,就不會有太大的負擔。
羊城晚報:開了工作室後,你會嘗試當制片人或導演嗎?
馬浚偉:制片人未必會做,太辛苦了,兼顧不過來,但做導演一定會嘗試。希望在一年半之內,大家能夠看到我執導的作品,可能會先從電影開始。趁現在有氣有力,我想嘗試更多東西,等到有一天我不當演員了,就能全心沉醉在創作當中。
羊城晚報:你創作的電影現在進展到什麼程度?
馬浚偉:現在故事大綱已經出來了,我把它交給了一個資深編劇。我希望今年內能做到,最遲明年初一定會做。故事講的是我的一段經歷,主要表現親情,會在香港拍攝,希望也能在內地上演。目前演員人選還在接洽,這是馬浚偉的第一部電影,當然希望有朋友支持。男主角戲分也挺重,我要看看自己是否能兼顧,如果不行,我就只做導演。
羊城晚報:事業發展得不錯,那感情方面有著落嗎?
馬浚偉:2014年對我的事業來說很重要,要一切上了軌道,才會考慮家庭問題。幸好我的家人也不著急,他們知道我是一個工作狂(笑)。
羊城晚報:那麼另一半也要能夠接受你「工作狂」的個性?
馬浚偉:我相信互相有足夠的溝通、能互相體諒就沒什麼難處。2014年如果有空當,我會仔細考慮這個問題。當然我也不小了,我自己也明白的(笑),但我覺得男人的黃金十年現在才開始,不想走錯第一步。等我走好第一步,再去考慮這些問題。
