Steven Ma attends Joyce Koi's Cantonese Opera
Translation on Steven's news portion
Last night, Steven attended the premiere of Joyce Koi's Cantonese Opera, 蝶海情僧 at Starlight Theater. Steven said of course he would attend the premiere as a show of support to Joyce. As to the opera will be touring different places in China, Steven laughed and said he knew only of the one in Beijing and that if he had the time he would attend it. As a former student of Lung Guai Tin, Steven said he had stopped taking lessons on opera. At that time, he was just learning the basic fundamentals, and that to be able to perform on stage will require long term practices. But swarm with work as he is, he cannot afford the time to learn. He said: "I learned the art because of my filming ancient series. I learned some body movements, and some kung fu movement intricacies. I thought they were difficult. I don't have the qualification nor the courage to act on stage. But if it is for charity then singing a piece of an act should be all right. Actually, Liza Wang and I did discuss about us doing an act but nothing came out of it."
