Steven Ma tastes sweetmeat most nomination

Steven Ma's earlier request to TVB to terminate his contract is still unresolved, which he said maybe change to a different type.  Allegedly he, with his The life and times of a sentinel and his Apprentice Chef that he hosted, will have the most nomination on this year nomination list, way ahead of his peers.  It was pointed out earlier that Mona Fong especially made known that she wanted him to be retained.  Can it be that TVB especially use this 'sweetmeat' as an inducement to have him stay.  Last night this reporter called Steven up but filming in Hengdian, he did not return the call.

Aside, TVB will announce its TVB Anniversary Awards nomination list on the 10th this month in a press conference.  Attendees include Moses Chan, Liza Wang etc but TV King Wayne Lai will not attend due to out of town job.

Allegedly TVB will split the Best Variety Show award into two "Best Variety Show" and "Best Educational Program" with one award going to Steven Ma's Apprentice Chef and Book of Words.

TN:TVB can come up with whatever 'goodies' they wish as inducement but Steven will not be moved. I can bet the farm on it.  He has lost heart in TVB. He just wants out.  And I've lost all interest in TVB awards too. Don't care who wins or loses anymore.

  1. by the sounds of it, they're just giving the awards to Steven in a feeble attempt to keep him. In any case, Steven's not actually getting it because he deserves it. TVB is only using it as a bait. If he's going to get TVB King this way, I'd prefer it if they didn't give it to him at all.

  2. Steven has said in an earlier report (much before all this awards hoopla) that even if TVB gave him the award as inducement he would not accept it. Though I personally think that Steven's performance in Sentinel is good enough for a best actor award, but without the ratings to back it up, his win will be contentious and will mar his win. So yeah, rather him not getting the award given this kind of situation. I can just envision Steven getting on stage saying "thanks, but no thanks" if presented the award.
