Benefaction
施恩
The common saying, “A benefaction too big for mere words of gratitude" (大恩不言谢), from a different angle, it would be: “benefaction expects no repayment". (施恩莫望報) Chinese people are without doubt smart; people of different eras and of different experiences always managed to leave behind to their progenies some wise proverbs that when utter are understood by most people but when actually doing them, how many would?

The existence value of a person’s worth to another’s is originally equal; it should not because of who you are, or that you have the power to influence certain things that you elevate yourself above another. Of course, this is easier said than done. In this confusing world, there are innumerable people with this kind of ingrained bad habit! So, if this kind of people thinking themselves superior over another bestowed some benefaction on a person, what would be that benefited person's outcome? Enough said.

“Giving is more blessed than receiving” is a rationale I have heard since young. The benefactor maybe because of own ability or other situations is stronger than the recipient; or maybe their situations are the similar but because of a kind heart and despite difficulty to self the benefactor is still willing to help out. Benefaction? The reasons for it are aplenty, or it may be just from the heart, regardless of its origin, the attitude after benefaction is the best indicator to a person’s character.

Breaks apart the character: 恩 into因 and 心, if because of conscience hence the deed, that would be beautiful. I am not a saint but treating people equally and fairly, I am more than able to do that.

TN: A thorn in this essay. I've a feeling this topic was prompted by someone who had enraged Steven with her superior attitude.
