Narrator: Apparently the classic online fanfic  《当爱已成往事》has been adapted into a tv series entitled Yuan Yang Pei that is presently filming full swing in Hengdian.  A few days ago, the series management permitted the media to visit the filming site. At arrival on site, this reporter immediately felt the deep tension in the atmosphere, the present scene playing out on set the intense conflict among family members.

This series brought together Steven Ma, Huang Xiao Qi, Fan Xiao Fan, and Wu Qian Qian these actors with real acting skill from 3 lands to join in this emotion filled drama, totally impressive.  Don't be distracted by Hong Kong actor, Steven Ma's less than perfect Mandarin speech in the scene, his gestures in his performance as a disgraced young master were right on.  Apparently Steven in the series not only takes on 2 different roles but also portrays a true villain for the very first time. 

Steven: Actually his personality is that for the family he will do anything. To please his father, he will use whatever means and ways to achieve his goals at work so that he can earn more money for his family.  Can say essentially Tang Xuan Ting is a bad person but his inner self, for me acting his persona, I feel that he is someone who deeply sentimental towards friends and family.

As the scene unfolds the conflict intensifies. As the family war heats up, Steven's emotion becomes increasingly volatile; in between explosive words, tears welled up in his eyes.  Toward performing crying scenes, they come easy to Steven but not without a big problem.

Steven: There was this one completed crying scene. Actually I found it quite awkward. Because I cried too hard, my mucus came unbidden and too copiously. That scene was to be very moving but when the director and the others checked it out on the video monitor they immediately burst out in laughter. Because there it was, this one thick long mucus.  So now I need to learn how to cry, can have copious tears but not accompany by too much mucus.

What is worthwhile to mention is that this series is Steven's very first mainland series after he successfully terminated his contract with tvb. He also reveals that his work will now focus more in mainland market to further his career. 

Steven: For sure, I will concentrate my work more in mainland, at least half the time. But I will still go back to Hong Kong to film other series.  Actually, all this time, I have been in contact with different Hong Kong tv stations. Later, later ba, when I have a more concrete direction I can then announce to everybody and hope that everybody will be happy for me.

TN: From their numerous weibo interactions, I think Miu Siu Ching and Lau Ka Ho is wooing Steven to get him to join them in NowTV. Before they seldom interact on weibo unlike recently.
