editorial

Haiz! I just got on HKticketing site. The English translation on Steven’s concert is so way off from the original Chinese blurb. Anyway, 2 things stick out from the translation: 1) Steven album is a Christian music album not a gospel album as stated in the website. (even if 福音 is translated as gospel in the dictionary.) Steven's songs are Christian (pop) songs not gospel. 2) 信仰 is erroneously translated as religion, which is incorrect in the context.  In the context, 信仰 is faith .

Reading the English blurb on the website, one would think the concert is an evangelist religious event.

Here’s my English translation:
In their first time collaboration, Steven Ma, who will be releasing his new hi-fi Christian music album soon, and TBM, an active local Christian band in recent years, will bring together the different emotions of familial love, friendship, romantic love and faith in this music sharing concert.

All net proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to TBM ministry in support of its campus music tour campaign to promote life education in all local schools through music.

Here's HKticketing
Following the release of an upcoming gospel album, Steven Ma, with an unprecedented partnership with a recently active gospel band TBM, is going to bring a mini concert cohered with love themes ranging from family, friends and romance to religion.

All revenues from the ticket sales, after cost deduction, will be donated to support a campaign of TBM ministry to promote life-changing values through music and sharing to schools throughout Hong Kong

The original Chinese blurb
即將推出全新創作發燒福音專輯的馬浚偉,首次夥拍近年活躍於本港的福音樂隊 TBM,帶來一場凝聚親情、友情、愛情、信仰心情...的音樂分享會。是次音樂會的門票收入於扣除成本後,將全數捐出支持 TBM 事工機構的校園巡迴音樂計劃,於全港學校推廣生命教育。
