Fortunately for those of us who followed weibo news on Steven knew this incident is not how it has been reported. On August 21 (the day before Steven's scheduled departure to Beijing) Steven drove himself (not rushed or driven to emergency as reported) to the hospital to have his abnormal heart rate checked - see below weibo picture. Very low-key. Steven did not even mention his trip to the hospital on his weibo. He's just another patient seeking medical advice/help. Got to say, most unprofessional of the medical personnel/nurses to upload picture of patients on a public network. What about patient's confidentiality?
Anyway, since Steven had canceled his Beijing trip he went back to shoot his scenes, which unfortunately for him one such scene was a rainy night scene that required him to be drenched late into the night by fake rain take after take. (per on location speculators' upload of pix on weibo) No one except the hospital people knew about his heart problem then. As an actor he took that all in stride. Like he said not only he was affected by the extreme heat, his fellow PP colleagues too but as professionals, they continued to do their respective jobs to the best of their ability. Anyway, looking forward to watching the PP.
Uncle Choi did take care of his people. He had his crew buy plenty of big ice blocks and cool refreshment each day for his people butthere's nothing he could do about shooting outdoor scenes in extreme heat. Apparently the abnormal high heat was brought on by a tropical storm. Just plain bad luck for the PP troupe.
One thing good came out of this on-location shoot, which is, the onsite speculators now have a deep appreciation for just how hard the crew and cast worked to do their jobs - in that it is not easy to shoot a scene or to act out a scene especially under extreme weather.
