Weibo 9/29 Cool guy?

2013-9-28 Lately, don't know why, (my) face keeps getting hurt! Even accidentally falling asleep with glasses on could also cause a wound.... the nose injury just got heal and now yet another. (sic. injury) Haha! Actually, on the other hand, this seems to accumulate yet another trace of the passing years, quite cool, eh?  p.s Anyway, still have to remind you all not to fall asleep with glasses on, if eye(s) got poked, that would be bad. 





TN: May I just say that I really and truly don't get Steven's self-deprecation jibe that scars make men cooler or more macho.  He is so annoyingly predictable in that whenever his body or face got hurt he would play it down with that macho cool guy jest, which is getting old.  Real men don't need scars to look cool or macho, ok? Ok!

weibo 9/26/2013 What role(s), what drama(s), what song(s)?

TN: Of course the two characters Steven most wants to portray are Xu Zhimo and Lu Xun. 

Photos separated by the passing of fleeting time.  The now vs then. So handsome then and young, still handsome now but more mature -- or maybe it is the hair that separates the then and now?

For me:
Role= Please don't portray someone in his 20's or even early 30's. The character should be someone closer to Steven's own age.  A charismatic mature man.  Tired of watching his common everyday man - he did those roles well and all, but he needs other challenging roles to build up his acting repertoire, and for breakthrough.

Drama = Please, please don't let that discarded 'Single Mother, Ten Years' turn up like a bad penny. (shudder) And please no more, I repeat, no more  Qing dynasty drama. No more shaving his head bald. Steven's Qing image has lost its freshness like way back when, and now all of his Qing characters sort of blended into one big image of this man with a 'pigtail at the back of his head.' So enough of that qing guy already on my tv screen even though Steven looks absolutely stunning in Qing costumes. Moreover, I personally don't relish looking at a bald-headed Steven once again for at least 6 month until hair starts growing, slowly.

Song = maybe more dramatic and emotion rousing songs than those on his Cherish cd.

Incidentally, very different from my own reaction, his baidu fans are disappointed that Steven won't be in the photoshoot. Unlike me, they had been looking forward to seeing his handsome face gracing the calendar.

So who is the mysterious lady?
From the TME news magazine, the leading lady of the movie is Yang Zi Yan( 楊梓嫣) aka Concubine Jin of The Legend of Zhen Huan《后宮甄嬛傳》 so I assume that lady must be her though I've never see the said actress. “電影女主角楊梓嫣，因在熱播劇《后宮甄嬛傳》中飾演善良又有智慧的「敬妃」而廣受觀眾喜愛。”

Haiz, the reporter misprinted her name, should be 楊紫嫣 not 楊梓嫣 as reported. But both names are pronounced as Yang Zi Yan.

UPDATED sep 9 Steven in the hospital

News media and their wont to sensationize news. Many news sites ran headlines like: "Steven Ma Rushed to Emergency for Heart Problem" or "SM suffering heatstroke rushed to hospital for heart problem" etc scaring his fans and supporters who didn't know any better, which is why of all the Chinese ET newspapers/sites, I prefer wenweipo for its news integrity. Sep 9 Steven praises Wenweipo for its news integrity. 

Fortunately for those of us who followed weibo news on Steven knew this incident is not how it has been reported. On August 21 (the day before Steven's scheduled departure to Beijing) Steven drove himself (not rushed or driven to emergency as reported) to the hospital to have his abnormal heart rate checked - see below weibo picture. Very low-key. Steven did not even mention his trip to the hospital on his weibo. He's just another patient seeking medical advice/help. Got to say, most unprofessional of the medical personnel/nurses to upload picture of patients on a public network. What about patient's confidentiality?

Anyway, since Steven had canceled his Beijing trip he went back to shoot his scenes, which unfortunately for him one such scene was a rainy night scene that required him to be drenched late into the night by fake rain take after take. (per on location speculators' upload of pix on weibo) No one except the hospital people knew about his heart problem then. As an actor he took that all in stride. Like he said not only he was affected by the extreme heat, his fellow PP colleagues too but as professionals, they continued to do their respective jobs to the best of their ability. Anyway, looking forward to watching the PP.

Uncle Choi did take care of his people. He had his crew buy plenty of big ice blocks and cool refreshment each day for his people butthere's nothing he could do about shooting outdoor scenes in extreme heat. Apparently the abnormal high heat was brought on by a tropical storm. Just plain bad luck for the PP troupe.

One thing good came out of this on-location shoot, which is, the onsite speculators now have a deep appreciation for just how hard the crew and cast worked to do their jobs - in that it is not easy to shoot a scene or to act out a scene especially under extreme weather.
