Episode 6  Lai Shun and Kam Sing sing karaoke duet.

Re-watching ROTC rerun - at episode x presently. At the time, among the three guys namely: Man Chor, Lai Shun and Kam Sing, I thought Kam Sing to be the handsomest, and my opinion stays the same. Kam Sing has the misunderstood, brooding masculine good looks. Today, all three maintain their good looks - Father Time has indeed been kind to them all. Somehow I've never thought Julian as handsome but admittedly he can be quite charming. His Man Chor is more on the cutesy side, Btw, Julian totally nailed his character with an award worthy performance.  Lai Shun has the si-man scholarly good looks. It's weird how Lai Shun alternates between looking pretty tan and milky pale in different scenes.  Among  the three male characters, his Mr. Perfect Nice Guy is rather bland, so far anyway. As for Kwan Ho, she is so loud and noisy and shrilling and rude and materialistic and whining and totally spoiled rotten by her mom and Chor gor gor.  But she does look cute with her short hair. I forwarded all her piggyback on Man Chor's scenes, just like I did for her Princess Cheung Ping and Sai Hin's praying scenes.

  1. For me - the most endearing and dashing is still my Steven.

    1. Haha! Who is to say he's not yours? You can always lay claim on him, no? Most endearing, yes; most dashing, no argument in that; but most handsome? It's Kam Sing for me.

  3. Totally share your sentiments about Kuan Ho! Can't stand the overload of piggyback scenes, once is fine, but too many is overkill. And they really had to put it in the movie, arrgh..15 years, she has aged 15 years and how many actually do this in their mid-late 30's? Actually I can't stand the wide-eyed innocent look she likes to pull in most shows, but that's just me. She's much better in the movie though..thankfully.

    1. I saw the movie screenshot of the piggyback, but then again, piggyback scenes are a staple in not just TVB series but in most Asian love story dramas.

    2. Agree that piggyback feature in Asian dramas, but usually only when there is a need for it, ie. Injury, etc.

    3. That's true. Kwan Ho couldn't sleep in the tv series, what's the reason for her piggyback scene in the movie? For old time's sake?

    4. You bet! Haha..think there will be a sequel yet again to this movie; unless Lai Shun mysteriously appears again somehow with longer screen time will definitely not watch it even if available free online.

    5. Most viewers thought their tv piggyback scenes were sweet, I thought they were cringe worthy, so forwarded all of them, can't imagine watching that scene on big screen.

    6. Showing it only once in the drama would have been fine, just as showing the praying scenes in PITNOL would be acceptable too. Sweet would be something like Ghostwriter, short and sweet, a little meaningful. Like you, I also fast forwarded these scenes in both PITNOL and ROTC!

    8. Yup, saw this before, but it never fails to bring a smile every time I watch it. I think he's had to give piggyback rides to his co-stars in most of his dramas, both male and female. Never fails to amaze me how it seems so effortless for him.
