Evening December 6th 2013, Shenzhen: Steven Ma and Mr. Huang Hong, chairman of Beijing Zhonggang TaoYuan Television Media Company (北京中港桃园影视传媒有限公司), officially signed an agreement to jointly establish "Zhonggang TaoYuan Steven Ma Work Studio" 「中港桃園馬浚偉工作室」in Beijing. Mr. Huang said such celebrity studio is the first for their company.
Per contract, Steven is granted an impressive sum of 30 million rmb to set up the said studio in Beijing. Furthermore, the company will also grant Steven a yearly budget of about 10 to 30 million rmb as investment funds for the studio's filming productions. The company will arrange for Steven to film at least two tv series and one movie per year.
Steven is elated. He said: "I feel that Mr. Huang's contractual terms and conditions are both comprehensive and reasonable; it also gives me much freedom. The company will arrange for me a manager, a publicity staff, and an assistant etc. Also will arrange for me to shoot at least two tv series and a movie each year. Although TVB has contacted Steven to film a new series and he is willing but because of his tight schedule it won't be until the latter half of next year before he can consider it. In a few days' time Steven will fly over to Beijing to meet up with his new colleagues for a meeting.
Yesterday this (on.cc) reporter contacted Steven. When asked of his lead candidates for his movie, Steven said he still does not know if he will play the male lead or not. For the female lead he will consider the mainland actresses and his former TVB co-stars.
