weibo: Fatt Dat Gor

Steven's costume fitting as Fatt Dat Gor in Miu Siu Ching's new series.

Frankly, I am not looking forward to Steven's character in his new series. Reason being I dislike his total look and don't think it is a break through role for him. Wish he would act a cool and mature character closer to his own age. Don't want another grassroot character like Gong Zai, Yat Bo, or On Boy or another Wilson. I want to see him smartly dressed up and cool like Calvin or in an action pack modern series. Enough already of a lovesick lover or a man in his late twenty's.

And oh, that hairstyle reminds me of Ah Gong who has the worst hairstyle of all his characters.
Boy, am I feeling cranky over this Fatt Dat Gor!  Go hide under my rock to sulk off my discontent.

  1. argh, i hate this hairstyle too. i didn't like the ah gong hairstyle neither but my absolute least favourite hairdo of steven was calvin's in 7 days. i hated it sooooo much.. it totally ruined the whole character for me.

  2. Calvin's hairstyle could be better but overall his makeover wasn't too bad much better than Ah Gong and Fatt Dat Gor.

not too short and not too long... with a nice flick at the end... the hairstyle on his new book is nice too...

i really hate seeing him with massive sideburns and a fringe. totally ruins his pretty face...

  4. Ooh!I love that picture of him, so cool! I like his Chi Gou in Brink of Law. I thin he looked good in that one. I dislike his bangs and massive sideburns too, yeah, totally ruin his pretty face. And his brother-in-law is a hairdresser too, he must be a traditional barber.

For an artiste, Steven is way too lax with his clothes and hairstyle because he thinks of himself more as an actor than a celebrity. His image is too grassroot not glamorous enough especially for HK people though he is greatly loved in Southern China.

  6. actually, i've just realised his hair is really nice in "steps" though i still haven't watched this series yet. i have it on dvd but i can never get past the first two episodes because it's so boring. what a waste of his hair.. and he actually wore a lot of suits in that series too.

i agree with you on why he dresses so casually. he is selling talent, not his looks. but i do wish he would realise how attractive he actually is. i have never liked actors with pretty boy faces (big eyes, small mouth, long hair, etc.).

sigh.. i wish i had his cds.. any cd.. last year, i went around hk trying to look for his cds - any cd at all - but they were all out of stock everywhere. i remember you mentioned his contract included a cd recording.. will it ever see the light of day? i wish i could have an official cd of all his tvb themesongs in the last decade..

  7. With the 2nd contract,it was his plan to release an album with his tvb themesongs plus a few new songs, but guess that won't happen with tvb.

I actually quite enjoyed Steps. It was fun and lighthearted. Though Bernice is not a very good actress she did well in the series. And Steven of course was good as the carefree bachelor. His hair was ok though a bit too conservative.
