Recently, Steven Ma as the Caring Ambassador for HK Guide Dogs Association promotes guide dogs for the blind services. Steven since three years old has had raised four pet dogs consecutively. But since his last dog, Ben, ( it's Pomeranian 松鼠狗) died in 2002 (sic. 2001 per SM yahoo blog) he has stopped having a pet dog because he just does not have the time to care take of it.

Steven still misses Ben. He says: "I've had Ben for nine years. Its very sentient.  It usually slept outside elder my sister(s)' or my bedroom door but on the day it died it slept outside the bathroom door.  At the time I found it strange, when I came home after work my elder sister told me Ah Ben had died. It's death was so sudden I was depressed for a long time.

At first he thought of getting another golden haired Pomeranian but rethinking his hectic lifestyle decided not to. "Having a pet is a lifetime commitment, I don't to get one because of impulse, also I don't want my family members to take care of my pet.  Hopefully when I'm not so busy I'll be able to have a dog. It will be ideal if by that time I maybe able to move into a 3-storey detached house that has a garden and a rooftop patio. so will have enough space for the dog to move around.  .

The association has recruited a celebrity ambassador, actor Steven Ma Chun-wai. He chose to back the organisation because 'I am a dog-lover and I want to show the public that they are not toys, they are pets that can really make a difference.'

Steven really loves dogs -- in the interview said he wish to earn enough money to buy a 3 story home out in the countryside so that he can own a big dog and have room for it to roam around.

4/23  18:15  The ceaseless relationship of humans and dogs group photo.   Today's event was very worthwhile and meaningful and very fun, too!  The dogs were so adorable, as were our very own guide dogs, Google and Iris!  A very happy afternoon spent!

4/23  14:09   Attending Doggies' Obedience Competition event held at Tsuen Wan as a judge and will later also sing a song.   But because of the rain, the outdoor event had to move indoor.  So meanwhile could only wait inside the van!  在荃灣準備出席「狗仔服從大比拚」活動任評判兼唱隻歌仔，但因天雨關係，要從戶外移師戶內，那現在只能在車上等了! p.s.待會兒會見到很多狗狗呢！

Yesterday, Steven Ma  attended the event held by Hong Kong Guide Dogs Association as its Guide Dogs Caring Ambassador.  As the ambassador promoting and publicizing the services of guide dogs, Steven disclosed that since three years old he has had four pet dogs.  However, after his last pet dog died in 2000 and because of his hectic work schedule, he has not own one since then.  Steven urges everybody to think carefully because owning a pet because taking care of one is a lifetime commitment, so please do not get one on impulse.   

When the topic turned to siu sangs criticizing tvb for being harsh and for taking deep management cuts off artistes’ earnings, Steven asserted that his management cut is reasonable, not harsh at all.  But he agreed working in TVB is pretty arduous.  He once experienced going without sleep for 56 hours straight.  When asked if he protested to TVB?  He said: “No, I have worked in TVB for 18 years, so I am used to it.  I feel the hard work is worth it.  When you are happy doing what you do, then hard work is not a problem.   If not happy then the feelings are tough to bear.  Now that there is a new owner, the future is unknown. But I hope there will be changes made.”
 
There are rumors of Mong Fong leaving TVB to pursue filming.  Asked if Ms. Fong has invited him to make movies, Steven smiled and said he has little contact with filming, and that earlier on he encountered Ms. Fong at a concert, and that he will miss her if she truly leaves TVB.   He said: "I hope Ms. Fong will stay in TVB. Anyway, a new owner will usher in a new phase. I hope while focusing on the artistes, at the same time, will also pay attention to the behind-the-scenes employees because they too work very hard."
