On the 4th day of CNY, Steven looked up his opera teacher 龍貫天, who's having a show at 三門仔新村 on that day.

Apparently, on the 3rd day of CNY, Steven not only visited his childhood neighborhood, Shek Kip Mei link but also at a friend's invitation attended the 100-table-cny-banquet at Tai Po, New Territories. His arrival caused an instant commotion among the residents as they immediately surrounded him. A woman finding Steven's fair and smooth face irresistible unexpectedly pinched his cheek.

tn: I find her action incredibly rude but I guess so entranced was she by Steven's 'cuteness' and his fair and smooth facial complexion that she just had to pinch his cheek to make sure it was for real. Never mind about good manners or presumptuous familiarity - the urge to pinch was both impulsive cum compulsive. haiz! I would be horrified if some stranger suddenly pinched my cheek. Steven probably took it all in stride (like he did in this 2003 hometown video) and just stuck out his tongue and made a gwing 囧 face. (see below pix. ) Really, a man his age has no business possessing such fair and smooth facial skin. According to this old video, his being 'taken advantage' of by women wasn't his first time either.

Eta: The cheek pinching incident reminds me of this 'poor actor'. weibo video lol! Not easy being an irresistible idol to ardent fans, you know.

Chinese opera makeover for his music album Dai Nui Fa

Talking of albums reminds me of Steven's dai nui fa album cover. I wish I had the foresight at the time to bookmark the interview video clip recording his makeover into an opera character for his Dai Nui Fa album cover photoshoot, now I can't find that video online anymore.  In the interview video, Steven talked about the challenges of his amazing transformation. Compare his Dai Nui Fa painted face to his painted 'harlot' face in Change of Destiny.  Big difference there!

2003 canto opera 馬浚偉登台唱粵曲

With an interest all along in Cantonese Opera, Steven Ma became a student to Lung Koon Tin (龍貫天). After honing his skills for a while, Steven finally has a chance to tread the boards and he took part in a charity concert together with his teacher Master Lung and opera stars Joyce Koi and Ng Mei Ying. When he was partnering Joyce, they had a few scenes of comedy raising laughter from the audience. With this debut performance from Steven, he says that he was not nervous at all as he felt it was more like a party.

Steven was singing in aid of the Hong Kong Arthritis Fund and sung a few classic pieces with his co-stars, but he was not nervous at all. He said: "I was very serious about it, sleeping at half past ten last night and waking up at 10am this morning to practice, then drinking ash water to open my voice at lunchtime. I was not nervous because one is my teacher and the others are my friends who know me very well who will help me at the first instance if there is any flaw in my performance. Also, this is a charitable performance and the audience know I am a beginner so they will not expect much from me and it really feels like a party."

With Steven's description of a party feel, it is certainly not exaggerated because he created a few laughs together with Joyce Koi. When Steven was holding her hand to come out on stage, he suddenly said: "Your hand should be facing upwards!" Joyce explained: "I am used to playing the men's part!" When the four were singing together, Master Lung knelt down to let his lady sit on his thigh, but when it was Steven's turn, he mixed up his left and right legs and Joyce was forced to stand and making the audience laugh out loud.

Steven and Joyce have previously worked together on a TV series, but this is the first time they have co-operated in singing Cantonese opera and commenting on the performance of this newcomer, Joyce says he has done very well: "Singing Cantonese Opera is a lot more difficult than singing normal pop songs and I saw that Steven was sweating when he was singing the second song. However, for his first performance, it is certainly not bad."

馬浚偉跪地斟茶，誠心拜龍貫天為師。

马浚伟拍罢《洛神》、《帝女花》及《金牌冰人》等三出古装剧集后，对粤剧的兴趣愈来愈浓，早前他更向着名粤剧文武生龙贯天拜师学艺。拍《洛神》时，马仔认识了龙贯天，之后，他一有机会演古装戏，总会向他请教。在他心目中，早已把这位粤剧红伶视作师父，只是真正的拜师仪式却是由马爸爸和龙贯天的一群戏迷撮合而成。

　　

六月一日是龙贯天的牛一，之前一晚戏迷为他庆祝，马仔以朋友及后辈的身份带同双份礼物到贺。马仔先把第一份礼物送上，是一部脚底按摩器。「脚底按摩本来就对身体有益，旭哥演粤剧，功架十分重要，双腿要踏稳台板，必定很容易疲累，更需要多作纾缓。」他说。之后，他再送上另一份礼物，那是一只金碗及匙筷。「那是爸爸托我送的。他知道旭哥对我很好，教晓我不少粤剧的步法和造手，就想到趁他生日，送他这个金饭碗，祝他大吉大利。」当马仔手捧金饭碗时，戏迷立刻起哄。马仔说：「当时，我正讲到一直把旭哥当师父，戏迷便说，『既然买了金饭碗，何不正式拜师？』他们更替旭哥搬来椅子，请他上座。」

　　马仔向龙贯天跪地斟茶后，龙贯天盛赞徒弟很有心，但他不拘礼，只是站着接下徒儿的第一杯茶。突然收徒，龙贯天虽然有点突然，却还是高兴的。他说：「我觉得马仔是一个很努力、很认真的演员，从《洛神》到现在，他的演技有很大的进步，周世显是一个很难演的角色，他却演得十分自然，之后拍《金牌冰人》，又特地请我教他扇子功。」他笑称大家都是年轻人，不用太重视礼节，唯收下徒儿后，却会做到知无不言，全力协助马仔学艺。

　　生日会后，马仔与师父约了盖鸣晖及张可颐两位「金牌冰人」消夜，席间，他们公布师徒身份后，盖鸣晖既奇怪又兴奋说：「真奥妙！无端端点解有只马走0左入0黎？又唔同马房，拜咩师呢？」因盖鸣晖与龙贯天都是师承薛觉先，大家份属师兄妹，师兄收徒，她升级变了师姑，得戚之余，更要求龙贯天严教徒弟说：「今次真是有缘聚合，师父一定要认真0的鞭挞佢！睇吓几时整番台戏畀佢做。」她还不停提醒马仔，她是靓姑姑，他则是「过儿」，更笑言这个组合为「神经侠侣」。

馬浚偉正式入門唱大戲

馬浚偉昨日出席在尖沙嘴美麗華酒店舉行的「香港風濕病與香港八和會館風濕病患者籌款記者招待會」，在席上馬浚偉被大會委任成為「愛心大使」，他表示會積極操曲，準備在今年十月九日的慈善籌款晚會上表演。

阿姐讚有潛質
馬浚偉表示在圈中曾有兩位前輩大讚他唱粵曲有潛質，一個是汪明荃（阿姐），另一個是龍貫天，他說：「之前我都有跟龍貫天學唱粵曲，家我係以師徒相稱，但係就未正式入門，遲擇日做儀式，正式拜師。」至於八和會館主席陳劍聲對馬浚偉唱粵曲有何意見？她說：「 OK，唔好要求咁高，佢都係新人。」
