2011 Mercedes- Benz purchase as reward
Recently, TVB is short on siu sangs, even Steven Ma, who has served TVB for 18 years, is determined not to renew his management contract with TVB but to leave the nest to venture north. Allegedly, Steven's mind has already being made, for now he is shooting producer Miu Siu Ching’s Prosperous Father, but when it is done (tn: production is completed) he will immediately head north to shoot a 50-episode mainland tv series, Legend of the Yuan Empire Founder, co-starring with Hu Jun and Ray Lui.
Steven, who has been coldly treated by TVB all these years, has now become a very popular first line actor in mainland China. His fee for “LOTYEF” has reached 1.5 million rmb, and in his hands he has 4 mainland tv series, 1 movie and soon he will be the spokesperson for China’s Ma Ling canned food brand. (TN: confirmed) Steven has not even left the nest but has already earned more than 8 million rmb (about 10 million HKD). To celebrate his impending leaving the nest and striding north, Steven recently splurged hundred thousands of dollars to buy a new Mercedes-Benz as a mean of transportation, very grand indeed!

Steven is very happy because stepping into the year of Rabbit, his work continues incessantly. Besides hosting the high rated “Book of Words”, numerous Mainland advertising sponsors also queued up to invite him to shoot commercials for them. No wonder he is so ebullient. Earlier, he drove his newly purchased HK$500K 7-seater van to Happy Valley to purchase dessert soup (tong sui) and champagne. When he saw this reporter, he kept his cheerfulness. When asked why he had take out? “I’m meeting up with Ken gor (Kent Cheng) tonight so bought some dessert soup and champagne as gifts to show respect.” Upon saying that, he bid this reporter goodbye and drove away in his van.
Steven expressed that last year he had 4 series aired one after another (tn: AWT, Stupid Cupid, GW, LTT) which increased his exposure, consequently his stage performance and advertisement jobs were unceasing. He said candidly that his outside income pleased him. So of course he used the excess disposable income to reward himself. But Steven did not go for the head turning kind of vehicle instead he got a van. He said: "I had always wanted to buy one lo."
That night, Steven drove to Happy Valley, after parking his new van, he stepped into a dessert place to buy dessert soup. This reporter saw him chatting amiably with the employee, seemingly in good mood. Holding two big bags of dessert soup, he walked to the nearby Wine Cellar. After making a round inside the store, he pointed at a bottle Dom Perignon Vintage 2002 champagne, and without hesitation charged it to his credit card for a hefty sum of $1,228.
Even though laden with goodies, Steven still walked briskly, while chatting with this reporter; he was so very nice.

lol! Bosco just bought a flamboyant audi fire-engine-red sportscar (per news report), and here's Steven going for an unglamorous, neutral color 7-seater family van.

Steven made up with ex-gf, Vivian!!
Tamaya: Steven met with ex-gf, Vivian while filming Temptation in Macao. Pix surreptitiously taken by the omnipresent press. Steven openly picked up Vivian at the harbor to Venice Hotel in the company van. Catherine Tsang, another passenger in the van, was seen getting off the van with Vivian, chatting amiably on the way to the hotel lobby. Steven strode hurriedly from the van into the hotel to avoid pix taken with Vivian, but of course to no avail. During her stay, Steven seemed to be in a very happy mood.
Honeydaisy: I wonder why he tried to walk away quickly to prevent his picture being taken (with Vivian, that is). Is it because their public lives are so strictly managed that they are not allowed to be seen with someone who could be a girlfriend? Maybe he hasn't had time to report to the higher-ups in TVB about his reunion with Vivian, and has to still keep it a secret! Haha. :)
I think Steven was just being discreet so that his private life would not become fodder to feed the hungry press. In the past, HK paparazzi had stealthily snapped pix of him at take-outs eatery, at a doctor's office, and even at a gas station among others. This reporter, probably just hoping for some candid pix of Steven dining with colleagues and Zhan Jie to boot, truly luck out when Steven picked up Vivian at the harbor. Also the readers only have this reporter's words that Steven has reconciled with ex-gf. Don't know about other higher-ups, but since Zhan Jie, among others, was in the van when Steven picked up Vivian, she should be well aware of this alleged reconciliation. But according to a HK fan, this newspaper's credibility is questionable as it is free, and easily available on the streets, moreover, no other tabloids or newspapers have reported on this at all.

That night Ma Zai and his senior colleagues went to 黑沙环 restaurant for dinner. He seemed to be in a high spirit throughout the whole time, yakking away like a bird just been newly released from its cage. Besides talking up a storm with Zhan Jie, he was also extremely talkative with the restaurant owner, too. After dinner, around 10 pm, he and his dinning partners got into in a 7-seater van which he then drove to a “gwai lin gou” place for desserts. When they left the place later, while holding on to his take-out, he courteously assisted Helen Ma and the others into the van, and then drove straight to the harbor.
