Yes! Steven finally retired his overused shanghai bund medley. Though audiences are mostly different for each concert but yay to his finally revamping his song repertoire with new songs.

His security guards definitely worked hard for their money 'protecting' their subject from overzealous fans.

Putting aside the obvious safety issues, I'm of two minds about singers (not just Steven) shaking hands with fans on or off stage. On the one hand, singer-fans' physical interactions naturally induce and inject excitement into an already heightened, contagious atmosphere of anticipation   - exactly how a spirited and animated idol concert should be. On the other hand, the pandemonium caused can be/is disruptive to audience's overall enjoyment in that their view is being constantly and consistently blocked by the crowds pooling at the the stage (especially irksome to those who paid good money for premier seating). I myself was both irked and distracted by fans constantly rushing down from all directions toward the stage during a performance. But then what's an idol concert without these small bands of zealous fans whipping up excitement, eh? Yes, excitement heightens the atmosphere but can excitement be aroused without the said distractions during the performance? Maybe all physical interactions should be relegated towards the end of the concert? Quite a dilemma!

Yesterday, Steven Ma left for the United States in preparation for his three concerts with Taiwanese singer, Lee Yi Jun, to be held in San Diego (Harrah's Casino) and San Francisco (Cache Creek Casino) on May 9th and May 10th, respectively. As tomorrow (May 10th) happens to be Mother's Day, Steven has prepared in advance both new songs and classic oldies to celebrate that special day with his audience. Steven is feeling the pressure as the concerts will have live band accompaniment, plus he will sing the late Anita Mui's《親密愛人》(Intimate love). He hopes his rendition do justice to the song's essence. When finished with his concerts, Steven will stay back in the US for another day to relax. Later next month, June 7th-8th, he and Susanna Kwan will hold their duo concerts in Niagara Fallsview Casino in Canada.

Steven said recently he was really into the new footwear from the US, and at one time he even bought five pairs of new shoes in one go. However, with his hardly worn sneakers already filling up his shoe cabinet, he felt he went overboard with his shoe craze. So, this US trip would truly test his resolve to restrain himself from buying more shoes while there. "I truly don't want to become a shoe shopaholic."

Aside, Steven's home is under renovation recently so he is temporarily staying in a residential hotel. Though the renovation is most inconvenient, it is necessary for a comfortable home so Steven has willingly spent a total cost of 7 figures. Steven jested that now he would have to work even harder to dig gold and to try harder to save money, even more so, he has to restrain his shoe buying impulse.

Steven and Lee Yi-Jun's (李翊君) 2 US concerts with 3 showings at 2 different locations in California, namely Harrah's and Cache Creek Resort, respectively.

Updated 3/30/ Harrah's concert is confirmed by Jade entertainment. Updated 3/30/2015: It's confirmed Harrah's not Pechanga is the venue of Steven's upcoming concert.

Per Sandy Lau's info: May 9th 2015 Mother's Day Concert is at Pechanga Resort and Casion, Temecula, CA. But I can't find Steven concert on its event listing. Sandy Lau's info left on SM FB says that Steven's May 9th concert is held at Pechanga Resort. So, not Harrah's as listed on Ticketmaster (tickets sale starts 3/27)? Confused, I called up Pechanga,and was told there's no SM concert scheduled at all at their place. Next, I called up Harrah's and was told there is indeed a confirmed Chinese concert scheduled on May 9th at their resort but has no info on who the performers are. So, either the venue has since changed per Sandy's info or Sandy made a mistake.  Revised 3/29: concert confirmed at Harrah's.

TVB artists (sic) Steven Ma, Becky Lee (李璧琦) and Bob Lam (林盛斌) attended a Ka Ching Holding Ltd. event. Steven sang two songs on stage, elicitng a warm reception. He was surrounded by people wanting to take pictures with him.  Apparently his first stage singing gig was thru the invitation of this company, hence, there was a sentiment attached.

That night MC Becky had on a low cut fitting dress that greatly accentuated her fit body, which seasoned Bob (tn: her mc partner) jested was quite a distraction.

4.30.2013 Steven attended  金意陶 company event in  Dongguan.  A big turnout of supporters for Steven despite the heavy rain, nor did it dampen the crowd's enthusiasm for Steven.  The organizer truly went all out to make it festive for Steven and his supporters with lots of free prizes and giveaways, and his posters plastered everywhere, even on the back of t-shirts. haha!  Steven sang two songs - Domd1998 themesong and his new song.

The male mc of the show 4/30/2013 10:38 weibo says: Steven at his age, still so incredibly youthful looking you won't believe it, what's more, so much more handsome (len zai) in person than on screen. And very nice too.

And numerous similar such comments on weibo - that Steven is much more handsome in person than on screen, and very youthful looking for his age. The guy in blue t-shirt is Steven's personal assistant (probably cum driver).
