Reminder: Kitchen's Secrets airs August 1 2015
Steven's "Kitchen's Secrets" 厨房的秘密 episode airs August 1st (Sat) at 21.10 (9:10 pm)
Eta: From that one 厨房的秘密 episode I watched (KC and Daniel Chan), looks like the focus is not placed on the celebrity guests, it's more on the host and his co-hosts horsing around, hamming it up to the camera. KC hardly said anything. And then I watched Myolie and 谢依霖's episode, the guests got to talk more though M was rather quiet. Though their discussions were livelier than the other episode, they were way too rowdy and theatrical. Hopefully, S and 马丽暧's episode has lively, entertaining discussions without the contrived drama and theatrics to pull rating.

Steven and Johnson's duet - Internal Affairs theme song
Though Steven's powerful vocal noticeably overpowered Johnson's weaker vocal. Both did a good job singing the duet.
Someone (Gentle Crackdown 2) told Steven to forgive Johnson (for his transgressions). Steven asked why should he. That someone said: "He's crazy ba!" Haha! But gotten say, Johnson took the ribbing well. Well, what matters is that Steven and Johnson both got over their dislike (more on Steven's part) of each other to become brothers now, good for them.
Eta: Steven and Johnson's bantering (more like Steven's relentless ribbing of Johnson) clearly depicts the typical close male friendship, whereby they can publicly rib each other affectionately and good-naturedly without them getting offended, unlike us women (speak for yourself, Tamaya! Heehee! Yeah, JMO) who tend to be more sensitive and uncomfortable at being so (affectionately) publicly roasted. (Eta: I forgot that Fala Chen took Steven's comment about her poor communication skill with the media rather well too. ) I wonder how Steven would react if a colleague/good friend publicly tell tales of his past misbehavior at work, like he did on Johnson? So, kudos to Johnson for being a good sport, although he was noticeably eager to move along the tale of foe to the part where they finally became friends. That being said, Steven is more outspoken with close friends, with mere acquaintances he tends to be more guarded with his conduct and is extra polite. Wonder if some portion of their banters was loosely scripted, or at least had the topics pre-agreed between themselves - e.g. Steven revealing his initial dislike of Johnson?
Btw, I'm impressed with Steven's total alcohol abstinence from being a heavy social drinker to now a teetotaller. Read he's off smoking too. Always knew he possesses a strong willpower, and when committed to something, will do it all the way - like how he now fully embraces Christianity to the max.
Afterthought: Wonder if the rumors of Steven collaborating with NowTv prompted the question of whether he would work for another TV station.

So, basically Steven sang his three songs namely: duets《只有情永在》and《樓台會》 solo 《亲密爱人》, and except for group song to close the show, that's it for his less than 13 minutes of screen time. This time around this episode was a Susanna Kwan's tv mini concert special. Wonder if TVB is trying hard to get her to sign a contract with them.

Steven Ma and Susanna Kwan's Pre-Concert Warm Up
Artist Steven Ma is the special guest on today's《Sunday 靚歌聲王 Sunday Songbird》 recording while the evening guest-of-honor is Susanna Kwan. Steven reveals he will sing two duets with Ms. Kwan, namely:《只有情永在》and《樓台會》 eta and solo 亲密爱人. He also reveals that Liza Wang had invited him twice to this tv program prior but because of schedule conflict he had to decline, hence during the rehearsal he got a scolding from Ah Jeh (Liza).
As to his sharing the same stage with heavyweight veterans - Susanna Kwan, Liza Wang, Adam Cheng and Lawrence Ng (伍衞國) et al, he feels pressure. (in such eminent company). Since he and Ms. Kwan will be heading out soon to Canada for their upcoming joint concerts, their duets tonight can be considered as (pre-concert) warm-up performance. After the concerts, Steven will stay back for a few days in Canada.
Regarding his recent 7-figure home renovations, Steven says: "The renovation project started two months ago and will continue for another two. I'm presently staying in a rental apartment. My bed is not long enough so I keep bumping my head (tn: against the headboard). Hence, I've not been sleeping well but it's well worth it to get my dream house." He teases: "Later, there will be an announcement on my upcoming work project but I've promised the others to announce it together. So, just wait for the press conference."
Anyway, if not for his reading Uta Hagen's "A Challenge for the actor" book, I would postulate that Steven's heart is no longer in his acting career.
As to his short bed, why not have his own bed moved to the apartment - two months + period is pretty long for restless sleep.

TN: Steven would look so much better if only he would just straighten up his back and square up his shoulders, and not slouch when posing for photos. A good posture greatly enhances one's physical appearance.
Since Steven defines his new work project as "a novelty" (新嘗試) my guess is that it won't be a tv drama production but rather another mainland reality show, variety show or an evangelical work. Hopefully, my speculation is wrong since most of us have been waiting for his new tv series.
