He looks absolutely gorgeous! My heart almost stopped beating. Thoroughly entertaining performance. Love his quick-witted humor on stage, really lively, very entertaining. Love his thoughtfulness on selecting some different songs for the second night so those who have attended the first show had something to look forward to, also different jokes, nothing stale. And how I love the way he talks with a drawl, really sexy, given his voice! Plus I managed to get a glimpse of him leaving the venue after the show, right from the main entrance after the crowd had dispersed, about 11:30PM the first night, 11:20PM (the second night), saw him leaving both the first night and second night too. No fanfare, in a simple polo and shorts (black on the first night, almost mistook him for one of the crew, and red polo and white shorts on the second night), just a very brisk walk to the waiting van by himself, not surrounded by his entourage, too fast for a quick photo. Two different nights, two different experience. Now I'm kicking myself for not having bought tickets for the last show tonight.

Btw, I believe Steven was kidding about the "terima kasih" thing, it was a deliberate move on his part to draw laughs from the audience, cos he actually said it as "talima kasi". That's why he's really good at endearing himself to the audience. He also spoke a little in English, Teochew and Hokkien on the first night. (tn: Ref news report) Thinking he had the Malaysian language down pat, Steven steps onto the stage and greets his audience: “Dai ka hou, Terima kasih!” (Audience: That’s “thank you!”) It’s not“How are you?”

What's enjoyable about both the shows was that he took good care to ensure that the acts was not a fully rehearsed, and the fact that there were many spontaneous moments in each show. The first show included a lot more sharing of his personal life which made the audience warm up to him right away, and he managed to make the second show like a continuation from the first, as if the audience from yesterday's show were like old friends.

Tamaya, my English not so good, so im writing it in Mandarin and mix mix ya..haha.. 可是当我们跑向前面时, 他好专注的唱歌, 好像没看见我们似的, 后来我们就退后几步, 刚好VVIP有two empty seat, we sat down and manage to get few snapshot of him, but my hand was shaking because he so handsome, just can't believe he was in front of me. After that he ran down to shake hand with the audience, at last I managed to pass my gift to him but no chance shake his hand le.. Overall, I enjoyed the show very much, but I hate and kicking myself for not attending his 2nd day show because one day show is not enough!! He told audience that he will come to Malaysia next year and will collaborated with Susanna in a drama. After the show, we still don't want to go back, we waited waited outside the hall, waiting for him to come out, at last he come out with casual wear stripe shirt with beige/white colour pant walking very cutely to the van. We (with Amy) met one senior lady, ran together up to his hotel which got to take 5 times escalator..We just tried, but we think he will reach the hotel first than us.. We are too late, when we reached there, we waited and asked around people there, the staff there said he already went in to the hotel room.. haiz!!

Congratulations to Steven Ma on his 20th anniversary

Twenty years, years filled with all kinds of emotions, of surmounting setbacks and celebrating accomplishments, of  years passing and of time slipping by; the ups and the downs; the gains and the losses.  20 years - half of Steven's 42 years -- that perservance of sticking it through thick and thin for 20 years is in itself an accomplishment. Bravo! Well done, Steven; so proud of you and your accomplishments over the years.

On this auspicious day:
As fan, here's wishing you that your acting career continues to prosper to the next level with superior dramas; your singing career continues to release new music albums and to hold concerts worldwide, (esp. places close to me); and your writing career continues to publish more books  God has blessed you with many talents, and we as fans are so fortunate to benefit from your talents and the efforts you put into them.  Go with your heart's desire on how you wish to walk this artistic journey of yours.  May your dreams come true sooner than later.

On a personal note, thank you, Steven, for inspiring me with your wisdom and beliefs. Truly, 9/27 is a day of retrospection for Steven and fans alike on the past, and for Steven also a day of introspection of the present and the future of what he wants to do and how to accomplish that.  Best of luck to him!

If interest, read my essays on my journey as Steven Ma fan starting with my self-intro as to how I became a SM fan.  link.  (I wrote my intro as SM fan because I'd been asked frequently on my conversion.)

Anyone care to reminisce how you became a Steven Ma fan?

Updated: Hengdian Day 2 - 11/13/2011

Condensed and Paraphrase~~~~~~
So we waited and waited by the site where we saw Steven yesterday. Cola Jie called to say Steven was still the other site filming. But we decided to wait anyway.  By 5 pm we were getting anxious.  Cola Jie called again to say Steven was still being held up there filming. She told us that Steven would meet us at the hotel.  So we all dashed back to the hotel to wait for him at the lobby.  Slightly after 5 pm, we saw Steven looking tired came into the hotel. Seeing us he quickly came to us.  He had been filming a fighting scene nonstop. His scene which should have ended by 10 am was prolonged until now. He said: "You all are still here ya? Unfortunately, I don't have much time. Later I still have to meet with the directors."  He told us that he could not talk too long with us as he still had a meeting with the directors afterwards.  Never mind, we had just wanted to give him our presents, and were happy just to have seen him today.  Pretty soon, he left to go up to his bedroom.  We were sad to see him leave so we unwillingly dragged our feet to leave the hotel too.

Finally really have to leave now.  As we were walking outside the hotel, Hui Hui at this moment noticed an unanswered phone call on her cell so she listened to it.  Just when she was about to return the call, there was this van that stopped behind us.  It was Steven’s!! And Cola Jie was inside it!! She told us that Steven was right now taking a shower, and that he would see us in the lobby later on.  He knew that 3 new fans had come.  And just that one encounter, and them coming from so far away is not easy.  So he squeezed out a time to see everybody, and to take pictures with the new fans. At that very moment hearing it, we were all so touched.  There’s one fan who cried outright at being so touched.

So we excitedly rushed back to the hotel lobby to wait for Steven. After a while, Steven came down looking much refreshed than before. He had changed into a new set of clothes: denim jacket and wearing the same cap as day 1. As to his pants and shoes I forgot. It was quite dark inside in the lobby as the lights were dimmed. Steven first took pictures with the Day2 fans. Those of us Day1 fans instinctively did not join in.  We are all very self-disciplined little piggies. And then Steven sat down on the sofa and asked if there was anything to sign? Steven said he was waiting for Director Tsui they all to come down. So still had a bit of time to chat with us. So they (day 2 fans) handed out their pictures to Steven to sign. After the signing we chatted amiably until the directors came down.

We chatted quite a bit with Steven; talked about LOYEF, and asking him to have more Mainland events, and asked him to release a music album. Steven said there will sure be be opportunity to. And then we asked Steven to sing a song, sing Dai Nui Fa. (PITNOL) Steven asked us to join so we did. (Sai Hin buried with Cheung Ping...)

This moment seemed so surreal but yet it is real. In the past I never even dared to imagine being able to sing with Steven in person.  I said: "4th Brother, I loved this line "世显永伴长平合葬" the most”.  Hearing that Steven unexpected sang that line again. Made me so touched by his act. Then he sang A Little Story with Zhen Zhen. It was good.

After singing, we chatted with Steven again until Director Tsui and co. came down to the lobby. And so we had to say goodbye to him.  Hui Hui and Zhen Zhen would leave the next day but Ka Ka and I would take the bus to the train station to catch the 11:37 pm train. Ka Ka got off at Hongzhou at around 12 am while I sat in the train for another 4 hours before reaching Ningbo. This trip was full of pleasant excitement and very memorable for the rest of my life. 2011 was truly a happy year. Could see Steven thrice in 2 months. Steven is as handsome as before and as nice as ever towards us. Hope 2012 will be a good year to Steven.

Day 1 Hengdian fan visit part 3

continued from: hengdian day 1 part 2

I asked Steven how “cart noodles” looks like?

Steven said: Cart noodles” is when you can choose your own noodles, whether the thin or the thick kind. And then you can choose different stuff as add-ons. Like my most favorite pig skin, fishballs, etc anything I want to add on.

I said: sounds like ma-lat soup
Steven: Ai… I heard that Prosperous Father has a scene on it (cart noodles)
Fan: This year?
Steven: No, should be next year. Maybe after New Year (tn: most like on CNY)
Fan: Looking forward to it
Steven: It’s actually quite funny to watch…

Steven chatted amiably along as he autographed stuff.

Fan: Your workload is heavy?
Steven: Not too bad
Fan: 4th Brother is tired? Want to rest first before signing?
Steven: no, that’s ok. Feel better doing it now.

While chatting with Ms.蓝婧 (radio host) Steven brought up his idols, Brigitte Lin Chin Hsia, and Vivian Chow. And when he was about to sign for Xiao Ran (小然), he exclaimed: “A..Wei Yi Ran! Wah! Such a beautiful name, real or fake?

Day 1 Hengdian fan visit part 2

Fan99 Hengdian Chinese essay part2 baidu
Fan99 Hengdian Chinese essay sina blog

Steven came out for the 3rd time.

During the waiting interval, we discovered that Steven took the time to update his weibo! The post was our group photo with him. Steven wrote: All little piggies have safely arrived at Hengdian for their group visit!  Thank you for your bouquet of flowers, DVD and message book...of course, most important for your warm affection and your continued support! Thank you to you all!

This weibo entry was truly very moving. Every word brought out tears. Holding on to my phone I read the post repeatedly, and thinking Steven is so nice! Soon, the sky got dark quickly. We all still waiting outside the yellow ribbon.  Occasionally, we could hear Steven's voice drifting over.  During this time, Ke Le jie came out to chat with us for quite a while.  She first inquired our general background and then we chatted about Steven.  Ke Le jie was very nice and we all liked her.

fans visit to hengdian day 1 essay

99 video on tudou
Video shows how tourists eagerly rushed to take pictures with Steven right after he finished taking the group picture with his little piggies. The tourists quickly separated him from his own fans without waiting his approval to have his pictures taken with them, like he is an onsite attraction/prop. Poor Steven, poor little piggies to have their meeting cut short. I find the tourists quite rude with their impoliteness, and sense of entitlement. But I guess I can understand the tourists excitement at accidentally meeting a celebrity, regardless of who the celebrity is so long he is a celebrity. lol!  And then there is that poor little piggy bemoaning that when they can have pictures taken with Steven.

Journal by baidu 恋霖99 @ sm baidu.

Have been back from Hengdian three days now but still feeling restless and unsettled, kept thinking about 4th Brother. Recall his warm smile, and his attractive voice, recall his hearty laughter and recall his thoughtfulness towards us… has been 3 days now but still can’t immerse myself in my work, no motivation, no mood to do that. The images of our chats with 4 ge swirled constantly in my head… that 2 days were so surreal. Sometimes even wonder if it had all been a dream, cos’ it was just too beautiful!

November 1st when Steven went joined the LOYEF troupe in Hengdian we were all so very happy because we could now visit him in Hengdian. Baidu organized a visiting fan group. After group discussion, the 1st visit date was set at Nov 12 and 13 these two days. Because we didn’t have Steven’s assistant’s cellphone numbers, we didn’t know where Steven would be on these days. Baiud organizer had tried ways and means to find out. Finally, found a person who could direct us on this visit – Zoe Jie. (a mainland reporter, weibo) Luckily because of Zoe jie, we got to successfully meet Steven. On the eve of the visit, Nov 11/11, confirmed there were 13 fans going on the visit. On 11/11 evening, received Zoe’s phone call that Steven would be filming onsite at 邢州王府 (palace) in the 清明上河图 sector tomorrow morning between 10 am – 2 pm. Because a fan could only make it to Hengdian at the latest 1pm, I urged all fans to assemble at Hengdian as early as possible or else might not make it.

candid photos - 1st fans' Hengdian visit

November 12 2011
credit: steven-ma.org

Fans weibo messages:
Visiting SM fans 'skyped' (similar to China's yy(?)) online fans so that they could have a conference call with each other, and the online fans could listen to Steven's real voice. Anyway, apparently the line got disconnected after a few minutes of conversation, and a fan (qian qian)  called a visiting fan on her phone, telling her that she couldn't hear them. Then she heard a man's voice saying he could hear them. (She didn't grasp that he was Steven, thought was a male fan. lol)  And she insisted that the line had dropped but Steven insisted he could still hear them.

And then Steven said: Qian Qian, I can hear voices.
And then, it struck Qian Qian that the man's voice sounded a lot like Steven. Is it Steven himself speaking? How come so clear?

Qian Qian:aiyo, 4th Brother. I'm so excited.  The cellphone did not have signal so couldn't  hear. (She still didn't get it that the fan had earlier handed over her phone to Steven. Qian Qian had all along thought that Steven was just interjecting in their conversation. Instead belatedly, Qian realized that they were in fact having an one on one phone conversation. Now she really got excited.Ah...ah..ah!  No wonder Steven's voice sounded so close and clear. haha!)

Steven: Qian Qian, you didn't come, what a pity! We have good food to eat, you missed it.

Qian Qian: 4th Brother, you must wait for me. I'm going to visit you in December.

And after the phone call, Qian Qian berated herself for being tongue tied and not saying all that she had planned to say...

Baidu weibo: They finally saw 4th Brother. He sent a van to pick all 13 of them up. Aiyo, such front door service

fan1: Real like 4th Brother's skin is very soft and delicate oh. Can squeeze out water (tn: so tender is his skin) And also very young looking. I'm so hc ya!

A 2009 Fan's prose on Steven's next 3 years

 Article absolutely not transferable elsewhere.

A fan's prose
A fan wrote what Steven may accomplish in the next 3 years

In the next 3 years
A contract, signed for 3 years
After 3 years
You’ll be only 41 years old
Still a good age.

1st year
Some shi fu said: you might get married,
Not sure to a new flame or an old flame
Look at you, so happy, so filled with sweetness
Knew you’d wanted to get married for the longest time.
But as for me? Still…can’t get past the hurdle.

I know if you truly got married
Many fans will sincerely wish you the best
I too will wish you the best.
Also very sincerely.

But please allow me
A little corner of my own
To grief deeply, to be heart-broken
Wonder if the shi fu’s prediction will come true or not.
My heart is a bit apprehensive
Will wait and see.

I don’t know if anybody also feels this way or not
Gloomy or not
Whatever it is
If you can’t relate
Please forgive me
And thank you for you magnanimity.

.........

As I write this
Suddenly realize
That these 3 years
Could be the most important 3 years in your life

Everyday life, career life
All will change for the better

I’m willing to accompany you
In your journey all the way

Those past years of hardships
We accompanied you through them
Wonder if that counts as 'brothers' (hin dai)
going through thick and thin together.

After 3 years
Re-reading this prose of mine
How many of them will be realized?

March forward
Treat it like a test.

Will not translate the 2nd part of her prose.
In gist, the 2nd and 3rd year are the accomplishments she hopes Steven will be able to realize.

Steven as the uncrowned tvb tv king

source:  baidu tvb 2010-12-05 23:23 How come nobody come out to say some words of fairness?

Steven should be tv king

The more Dan ding (composure) he shows, the more pain I feel for him.

reply post 56 "Pity that Steven only acted in small productions, usually when series is a hit, then the cast will become popular"

reply 50: Not really, Safeguard was a hit but still it ended  tragic, isn't it?  What Ma Zai lacks is not a series, or a role or popularity or luck, what he lacks is TVB bigwigs' favoritism.

reply post 56  Actually it is not luck, it is more that he doesn't have the backing from the higher-ups.  We all know the prizes are management's alloted pork chops.  People like Ma Zai who has no grannies to love or grandpas to favor, no matter when, still has no show.  Like next year, his series have no favorable timeslots, all cannon fodders, obviously disfavoring him, how to get awards, ya?

His series are all aired treated as cannon fodder, be surprised if he can get any awards.  But I'm already used to it.  Does not affect my love for him.

Steven's popularity is not low, at least he got into 3 categories, just because reporters say it is low doesn't mean it is true.

Doesn't how hit his series is, look at Safeguards, got the most favorite male character, but didn't even get into top 5.  What a mystery!

He lost in being his performance too natural and too genteel.  Come the day when his character starts yelling out his lines with great intensity for no reasons whatsoever, then he will break through.  What to do, audience these days like this kind of performances.

NY - Toronto Fans' Encounters

Tamaya:
OMGosh! I met Steven today at the signing event. There were so many people that we were rushed in and out so I just got glimpses of him sitting down behind the glass counter. He is simply gorgeous and very cute. Excellent skin complexion, face smooth and unblemished. No sign of fatigue, very friendly and warm. Smiling, talking and signing all at the same time. His voice sounds exactly the same as on tv and radio. I was so surprised to see him in suit.I have pictures posted there. Not many photos because we were being rushed out immediately after Steven finished signing. Sorry, guys!

Close Encounter with Steven Ma

My Steven Ma Pursuit 8/19/2010 3-6 pm
Posted 21 August 2010 - 04:03 PM
asianfanatics.net 680
No, my heart was not beating like a runaway train, only very, very happy, very contented, and feeling very surreal that I was really in Steven's presence. And I was also very much aware that I was wearing this very silly smile on my face, but then looking around me, noticed that other people were wearing similar silly smiles on their faces, too except for those bodyguards and that woman standing by Steven with her booming voice yelling at everybody to move it up, go,go, go. Gah!

I felt the buzz of anticipation as soon as I stepped inside the store. The excitement and energy inside the cramped room were really high and palpable and very contagious. There was this humming of voices and noises but it didn’t strike my dazed mind that one of the voices belonged to Steven until someone said, “That’s Steven’s voice.” Only then did I tune in to the voices and sure enough picked out Steven’s masculine voice, but I couldn’t make out what he said, just that it sounded happy and animated. He’s probably working the crowd with his smiles and words.

I caught my first glimpse of Steven through a lucky crack between bodies that stood ahead like a high wall before us poor non-VIP people. My first thought at seeing Steven was indeed like a spiraling out of control runaway train: “OMG! Steven is really cute, so handsome; Omg! He’s attired in suit and tie! (so unexpected considering how he dressed in his previous Toronto meet and greet event, but then again, all the male staff members were attired in suit and tie, too) Omg! His skin is really smooth and flawless without blemishes as reputed. He looks so alive, so animated, so youthful looking,” and then my dull-witted mind reverted back to (contented sigh) “so cute, so handsome”. Steven looked exactly how I imagined him to look, only better. Never thought I would be so star struck! Never thought I would engage in a star pursuit venture. I could stare at him the whole day working his adoring fans, writing thus – I could now totally understand why the group of employees were like fixtures standing before him so inconsiderately blocking us commoners from feasting on him – they could not within their own willpower remove themselves from Steven’s presence (and Louis’ too, of course), so entranced were they as they feasted to their eyes’ content on him and soaked in his star presence. (What? Louis Yuen was there too, never saw him. Haha!)

Fans' essays - SM's Warm House to compile fans essay

reposted from AF#1218

Steven's Warm House is one of the earlier Steven fansites that is still operating. Therefore, it is an excellent source of Steven's old news, old pictures and screencaps on his earlier series. Incidentally, it also has the most firsthand reports of Steven-fans encounters/gatherings.

Getting to know Steven through his fans continues thru fans' essays:

My Steven Ma Pursuit 8/19/2010 3-6 pm
By: Tamaya@ asianfanatics.net

07-03-20 online interview of 大海 by 桔子webmistress of Steven’s Warm house for Ma Mi memoir. Interviewer 桔子 is from Sichuan. The past few days, Steven was at Chengdu, Sichuan; fans got to see him in person. (note: I think he was there with a group of celebrities to promote environmental protection.)

I: Let's start with the recent event. These past few days KuangAi netizens and Lan Lan 蓝蓝 went to Chengdu to see Xiao Ma. When you read their write-ups and saw their photos, how did you feel?

Fan: They were so lucky but hate Xiao Ma for being so secretive. Fear that one day he comes to Shanghai and I didn’t even know about it!

I: Hahaha! That’s Xiao Ma’s character for you! Were you jealous?

Fan: Of course ya! But you’re even more jealous ba. Hoho!

I: Last night I was so jealous that I uttered quite a bit of 'lose face' stuff to 习习 @ Kuangai. Even threatened I’ll strangle her.

Fan: hahaha! Xiao Ma truly ‘hurt’ 害 a lot of people ne
I: True! This fellow! When you read about those mei mei's (sisters') frenzy, did it remind you of yourself when you saw him?

Fan: I was totally different from them. I was very calm, very rational! Felt that Mazai was very warmhearted 亲切, very hospitable. Felt that 探班 group visit has the most benefits, is most secured, and has the most advantages. Haha!

I: Such as?
Fan: Can chat face to face with him, have long conversations with him. He’s very funny, always try to enliven the atmosphere, and seems like an old friend, interacting/playing with us all! That’s why we named him happy fruit. 开心果

I: Too general, how able some specifics?

Fan: Well, he treated us to lunch. I wrote about that in my diary. At that time, we never thought a big celebrity would actually treat us lunch! It’s so surreal

I: haha! Ok! When the time comes, I’ll append that diary to your interview as appendix, no problem ba?
Fan: I welcome everybody to read it. (her revised version)

I: At that time, what’s your biggest impression of him; mention only yours.

Fan: He’s truly~~~ very nice! Basically can’t find any faults with him. No reasons not to like him

LOW - Fans Meeting @ Hengdian (6)

This is the conclusion of 大海探班 in Hengdian. With much apologies to its writer, I have ruthlessly condensed her detailed, volumnious firsthand report to this miserly, chopped-up paraphrased version. But nonetheless, I hope you all have enjoyed reading it, and have gotten to know Steven a little more. The unannounced appearance of fans at work, strangers no less, can be distracting if not downright disconcerting, especially with the unneeded problem of trespassing with security. But Steven not only took it all in stride but took upon him to give his fans two memorable days for them to treasure for a long, long time.

(5) contd
After lunch, Mazai had only one scene to do in the afternoon. Meanwhile, he goofed around with the production crew. After finishing his scene, Mazai quickly changed into his street clothes because of his badminton game appointment with his friends. Could see that he was really looking forward to it. Since he was in such a hurry to leave, we quickly took one last group picture; Xiao Hua was our photographer. When done, Mazai happily declared: “The 4 empresses! “四个皇后" Haha!” (When Ammy met him at another meeting, she had him signed that very photo. He wrote on it: “四大女王” 4 great female emperors, and labeled us as “1、2、3、4”; and on the side drew an emperor stamp. He was going to write 四个皇后 but thought it did not too good so wrote “四大女王”, the 4 great female emperors instead. (note: Again illustrating Steven’s perceptiveness) The Emperor stamp was a bit blurry so he said to Ammy, “If they get it then fine, if not then forget it. suan le 算了 Ammy thought to herself, “Who will be so stupid to not get it!" Haha! After sending off Mazai, we went to a supermarket. In the supermarket we saw Liu Dan, John Chiang, and Yuan JJ.

2005/ 12/28
The next day, Xiao Feng had to hurry back to school, naturally she was most reluctant to leave. We sent her off at the hotel lobby, and guess who we got to see again ---the very Miss Kwok herself. Xiao Feng sighed and said: “So very lucky ya, the first person we saw was her, now leaving, the last person I see is still her.” Hahaha!

After sending off Xiao Feng, we left the hotel before Mazai. Ammy had already left with Ah Mo in his van. Lucky her but we were not so lucky; with some difficulties we finally made our way to 明清宫苑 in time to see Ah Mo’s scene in progress. It was the last scene in the series; Ah Mo was attired in the early republican costume. Because of the rain, the whole shooting schedule was pushed back.

We asked the make-up artist whether Mazai would be in today. He said: "Mazai still has one scene to do. His hair piece is with me ne. Maybe he's late." He then showed us the hairpiece. Haha! We’ll get a chance to see Mazai put on make-up. We waited for a long time so I asked Ang Goh if Mazai was late. He said: “Mazai is always punctual. Never late.” Not long after, Mazai finally made an appearance, bare of head and looking groggy. He said: I'd been sleeping inside the van for more sleep than I need.” Turn out that because of the rain, the whole shooting schedule had been pushed back. Actually Mazai was there already at 9:30 am. He was snatching some 40 winks inside the van while waiting for his turn to shoot. After exchanging some pleasantries, make-up artist did Mazai’s makeover. Our cameras worked overtime documenting the whole process. While waiting for his turn to act, I took the opportunity to chat to him. That Kaka was too shy so hid in a corner chatting to Ammy. So I was left on my own chatting to Mazai; felt a bit awkward doing that ya.

After shooting a scene, at around 11 am we bid Mazai farewell. And suddenly Ammy remembered she had not requested Mazai’s autograph so handed her autograph book for him to sign. Mazai signed his name, but Ammy wanted him to write something more. Yi dian dian “一点点” Mazai said, “Write what? Oh! Yi dian dian,” and proceeded to write “一点点” . haha! We then shook hands. His hand felt so comfortingly warm oh! Mazai reminded Ammy: "Remember take better pictures of me next time! Haha! Still bear grudges, this fellow! 真是个会记仇的家伙

LOW - Fans Meeting @ Hengdian (5)

part 5
Around noon, Mazai’s morning work was about done; he said to us: “Treat you all to a noodle lunch. Come on!” I was slow to react, indecisive and not sure what to think - tian na! Is this for real? And also we felt sort of bad for imposing on him. bu hao yi shi - 不好意思的 So none of us moved as we stood rooted to where we were. This can’t be true, we thought to ourselves. Suddenly, someone (Ang Goh, the onsite recordinding technician) quipped: “Yo! You really going to follow him? (pointing at Mazai) Go then! 走啊 He’s so stingy; he won’t treat you all to lunch lah! You really believe him?” Of course we knew he was just teasing us. Mazai had gone to change clothes. I did not know that, so I went over there, and…haha! Luckily I have quick reflexes, I sensed something amiss so turned right back. Rather, brave Miss Ammy (should I use brave? or lascivious 好色?)stayed put and stared at Mazai for quite a while ne! From afar, we saw Mazai complained laughingly to Ammy: “Secretly taping me changing clothes ya, you! Luckily I’ve clothes underneath! “偷拍我换衣服啊你!还好我里面是穿的!”as he quickly whipped off his costume, briefly exposing a white undershirt, and just as swiftly put on a yellow winter coat, all done in a flash. And then he put on a “taken by surprise’ facial expression; his antics all captured by Ammy's camcorder.

Inside the filming compound was a cafeteria inside a small building. Saw Miss Kwok and her assistant having their lunch inside. Mazai greeted Ms. Kwok as we walked in. We had a table to ourselves and Mazai ordered a bowl of mushroom/meat noodle for himself; following his lead, we all ordered the same.

The service was very slow, but on the plus side, it gave us more time with Mazai. Mazai examined the snapshots in our cameras; my camcorder was not exempted either. To provoke Mazai, Ammy showed him one of the pictures taken on the first day. (Honestly, it was bad.) When Mazai saw it, he hollered: “Look so terrible la!” When he finished perusing the pictures in her camera, he quietly returned it to Ammy. Later Ammy asked: “You didn’t delete that picture, did you?” Mazai very calmly said: “Deleted already lah!” We thought he was just joking, but turned out, it was indeed deleted. Ammy didn’t know whether to laugh or be angry又气又好笑; this Mazai was truly bad 这个马仔太坏了 How can you delete a photo from my very own private collection? Mazai: “Wah! You made me look like a hog's head in the picture. No! even look worse than a hog's head. I worry you might use that picture as your wallpaper ya! If someone sees that, argh….. We all laughed uproariously. Mazai said: “How come their pictures turned out quite good?” (Ammy’s explanation” Ai!.. you can’t blame me ya! Who ask him to be still groggy from his nap and then had a bowl of 泡面 instant soup noodle? No wonder his face looked puffed up lo!)

We waited a long time for our food to arrive. Mazai yelled out: Lao Ban! We’re starving to death here!老板,我们饿死拉 and proceeded to act as if in pain. Very hilarious! When the food finally came, we all rushed to take pictures with him. I was first again! During that time, Steven even pretended to eat in slow motion to entertain us. When done, he uttered sheepishly: "So, wu liao!" (so silly!)
